• 23. What Do You Do When What God Put in Your Heart Still Hasn't Happened?
    2026/09/07
What do you do when you believe God put something in your heart to do... but years later, it still hasn't happened? Maybe the waiting has been longer than you expected. Maybe there have been setbacks, delays, or circumstances that seem to contradict what you thought God showed you. You may even begin to wonder: Did I hear God correctly? Did I mess something up? Will this ever actually happen? In this episode, we're looking at Joseph, whose circumstances seemed to take him further away from the dream God gave him. But while Joseph was waiting, God was working. The delay is never wasted time. There is healing, growth, and maturity still happening in us. God may be working in circumstances and in the lives of other people in ways we cannot see. But while you're waiting for what God put in your heart to happen, your life is happening right now. You don't have to put your joy on hold until you reach the destination. God is with you in the process. He sees the end from the beginning, but He also cares deeply about who you're becoming along the way. In this episode, discover how to:
    • Trust God when the dream He put in your heart seems delayed
    • Stop letting insecurity interpret the waiting as proof that you heard God wrong
    • Look for what God may be doing in you during the process
    • Enjoy the life God has given you today instead of putting your joy on hold for tomorrow
    • Make declarations because your tongue is a powerful force. But leave off when and how it will happen.
Trust God with the destination... and enjoy walking with Him on the journey.

  • 22. The Lies Moms Believe When Their Child Rejects Them--with Sarah Wall
    2026/08/31

When your child pulls away, it can make you question everything—including who you are—but their choices don't get to define your identity.

When your own child pulls away or doesn't want a relationship with you, it's natural to replay the past and wonder:

Did I fail as a mother? Is this all my fault? What could I have done differently? If my own child rejects me, does that mean there's something wrong with me? Will things ever change?

In today's episode, I'm joined by Sarah Wall, host of the Praying Moms of Estranged Children podcast and a Christian estrangement mentor. Having walked through seasons of estrangement with her own adult children, Sarah understands the worry, heartbreak, and uncertainty that moms can carry.

Together, we talk about how painful circumstances can become painful beliefs about ourselves—and how to recognize the difference between healthy self-examination and condemnation that keeps us stuck in shame.

We also explore how to identify the deeper lie beneath the thoughts and emotions we're experiencing, bring those beliefs to God, and begin receiving His truth.

Because you may have made mistakes. We all have.

But something that happened in your relationship with your child does not get to define who you are.

    In this episode, you'll discover:
    • How to recognize when guilt or regret has turned into a lie about your identity
    • The difference between saying “I made a mistake” and believing “I am a failure”
    • How to separate your child's rejection from your identity
    • The difference between healthy conviction and condemnation
    • Why replaying the past isn't always repentance—sometimes it's self-punishment
    • How to identify the deeper belief beneath painful thoughts and emotions
    • A simple process for bringing those beliefs to God and receiving His truth

Your child's estrangement may be part of your story, but it doesn't get to write your identity.

  • 21. Why You Still Feel Like an Orphan: How to Receive the Father's Love
    2026/08/24

Many Christians love Jesus but still live like spiritual orphans. Discover how the Father's love and the Spirit of adoption help you stop striving, break free from the orphan mindset, and live from the security of knowing you already belong.

Have you ever wondered why some Christians seem to live with so much freedom and joy while others spend their lives striving to prove they're enough?

Why do some people celebrate another person's success while others secretly compare themselves? Why do some rest in the Father's love while others constantly wonder if they've done enough?

    The answer may surprise you.

You can know Jesus... and still live with an orphan mindset.

In this episode, we'll explore how the fear of not belonging quietly shapes our relationships, our thoughts, and even the way we relate to God. Through the story of the Prodigal Son, you'll discover that both the rebellious son and the religious son needed the very same thing—the Father's love.

We'll also explore what it means to receive the Spirit of adoption in Romans 8 and why Jesus came to do more than save us from sin—He came to bring us to the Father.

If you've been striving, comparing yourself to others, trying to earn God's approval, or wondering if you truly belong, this episode will encourage you to stop living like an orphan and begin living as the beloved daughter your Father says you already are.

    In this episode you'll discover:
    • Why many Christians still struggle with an orphan mindset.
    • The difference between living for identity and living from identity.
    • What the older brother in the Prodigal Son teaches us about performance and comparison.
    • How the Father's love frees us from striving and the need to prove ourselves.
    • What it means to receive the Spirit of adoption and cry, "Abba, Father."
    Scriptures
    • Luke 15:11–32
    • Romans 8:15–17

  • 20. Why You Never Quite Feel Like You Belong: How God Heals the Fear of Feeling Alone
    2026/08/17

If you've ever felt like you don't belong, struggled with abandonment, or feared being left, discover how the Father's love gives you the security of knowing you belong in God's family.

If you've ever struggled with abandonment issues, the fear of being left, or feeling like you don't belong, this episode is for you.

Sometimes the deepest wound isn't that someone left.

It's what their leaving taught you to believe.

Maybe you've spent years trying to earn love, prove your worth, or keep people from leaving—without realizing those fears have shaped the way you relate to both people and God.

In this episode, we look at one of Jesus' most familiar parables through a fresh lens: The Prodigal Son.

You'll discover that there weren't just one, but two lost sons.

    One left home.

The other never felt at home.

Both needed to experience the Father's heart.

We'll explore how the fear of abandonment can quietly become an orphan mindset—and how God's love invites us to stop striving and start living as beloved daughters who already belong.

    In this episode, you'll discover:
    • Why abandonment wounds often lead to performance and striving
    • What the older brother reveals about living like an orphan
    • The difference between earning acceptance and living from acceptance
    • How the Spirit of adoption replaces the fear of being left
