  • The House That Brought Us Home | An 80-Year-Old House & the End of a Chapter
    2026/06/04

When Richard and I became empty nesters, we found ourselves asking a question many couples face:

    What's next?

After years of raising kids, attending ball games, navigating marriages, divorces, blended families, and all the beautiful chaos of family life, we suddenly found ourselves in a new season.

    We didn't need more bedrooms.
We needed a home that reflected who we were becoming.

So we bought an 80-year-old house in Fort Worth.

What we thought would be a simple renovation quickly turned into a lesson in patience, faith, and trusting God's timing.

In this season finale of Brave Conversations, I share the story of our renovation, the transition into empty nesting, and the lessons I learned from the homes that held me through every chapter of my life.

Because sometimes the house isn't the story.

The story is who you're becoming inside of it.

✔️ Navigating the empty nest season
✔️ Right-sizing for what matters most
✔️ Renovating an 80-year-old Fort Worth home
✔️ Why every home served a purpose in its season
✔️ A look back at the journey that shaped Brave Conversations

If you're navigating a life transition, considering a move, or wondering what's next, I hope this episode reminds you that God wastes nothing.

Every season has a purpose. Every home tells a story.

  • The Flower Mound house that changed everything...
    2026/05/20

In this episode of Brave Conversations, I share the story of the Flower Mound house that changed everything.

After years of heartbreak, moving, and trying to build a life based on what looked right, I finally learned the difference between rushing into something and trusting God to build something steady.

This episode is about blended families, slowing down, healing, surrender, and the surprising ways God shows up in ordinary moments, sometimes in the form of a rental house next door to your best friend.

    We talk about:
    • Trusting God after divorce and disappointment
    • Blending families intentionally
    • Why slowing down matters
    • The meaning homes hold during life transitions

I’ve lived in nine homes, and each one marked a season of becoming. But this house in Flower Mound felt different.

For the first time, I wasn’t building a home out of hope alone.
I was building it out of choice.

If you’re navigating a transition in midlife — marriage, divorce, empty nest, or blending families — this conversation is for you.
