Tyler Shafer spent years running on autopilot — a corporate compliance job he could coast through, a routine of doom-scrolling and video games on the clock, and a version of himself in the mirror he wasn't proud of. Today he's engaged, in the best shape of his life, and running a second income from his iPhone that's already outpaced his day job: $61,642 deposited into his bank account in the last 90 days, built from 30-second videos filmed in his living room.

Chris and Tyler go back to 2018 — a UNC Wilmington dorm, a fraternity house, a version of Tyler neither of them recognize now — and trace the actual build: the 2021 mirror moment, 150 videos filmed before a single dollar came in, and Trybe, the UGC marketplace most people have never heard of, that turned a phone into a business. They get into what it costs to put yourself in front of a camera with no experience and no audience — and the thing Tyler has never said publicly before this conversation.

The real story. Not the highlight reel.

Brain Equity — everyone has potential. Some have the courage to find it.

For years I consumed. Podcasts on every drive, books, YouTube, other people's success stories on repeat. Always taking notes, never putting anything out.

Brain Equity is me flipping that.

I own a bar and run nightlife in South Carolina, and the best conversations I've ever had happened at 2 a.m. after close, when people finally tell you the real version. Not the highlight reel. What it actually took. The one decision that changed everything.

Every episode, I sit down with someone who did what most people only talk about.

Most people invest in everything except themselves. This show is about the ones who didn't.
