With a 10-1 record in District 10 competition this season, the Wagners High School co-op team is heading toward the end of the regular season with a full head of steam.

The boys team that includes students from Memorial, Altoona, and Fall Creek High Schools will have a roster next season that looks quite different than in 2025-26. Three seniors will have graduated, including reigning district champ, Tailen Scheuermann.

But the bowlers aren’t the only change in the team coming up this fall.

Coaches Tylor Chamberlain and Ian Schoenke and a couple of the aforementioned seniors recently joined me at Wagner’s Lanes in Eau Claire, WI to sort it all out.

It is just about tournament time in the Eau Claire Area USBC in western Wisconsin.

Our annual association tournament starts 12 days after the date of this recording.

The team event is at Bowl Winkle’s on Friday January 23 at 6:30 p.m. or Saturday January 31 at 10 a.m.

Singles and Doubles is at Wagner’s Lanes on Saturday January 24 at 10 a.m. or Sunday, Feb 1 at 10 a.m.

You must be an association member with at least 21 games in a sanctioned league in the association this season to participate.

I call it “our” tournament because I have been a member of the association board of directors for a couple years and also serve as its communication manager.

In Year Two, you’ll hear my conversation about this season’s tournament with Board President Barb Hanson and Vice President Randy Schenk. We also brought in Jeff Demorest from Washington state to get acquainted with a score tracking system we will use for the first time.

The months ahead are very important for high school seniors in Wisconsin.

It’s their last chance to put their best foot forward in the classroom and on the lanes as well.

Jack Dysland of Greendale is trying to lead his Greendale Co-op team to a championship while staying in the hunt for an individual title in District One.

However, he knows that academics are of the utmost importance this winter and spring.

Now’s the time to Drop The Hammer, and you can bet that whether Dysland is hitting the lanes or hitting the books, he'll be giving it all he's got.
