Come join us as we finish our read through of "A Soul of Ash and Blood" book 5 of the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and get incredibly excited for the next book in this series! In this episode we will be covering chapters 67-75! We finish up our coverage of this book and really enjoy diving deep into the very last chapter where we finally get some new action and a taste of what is to come in book 6. We have THOUGHTS and theories (of course!) as we learn more about the world and the lore in the Kingdom of Solis and beyond!

In this section of chapters we realize that there is so much foreshadowing to the transformation that we see at the end of the book. We end up with more questions than answers when it comes to The War of Two Kings, and we really enjoy the growth that we see in Cas. We start discussing our theories on Poppy's Stasis and even start talking more about Tawny and what she REALLY is. We dive a bit deeper into Jennifers writing style and how impressive the connection is in book 1 to the things that happen in Cas's POV of those same events in book 5. We still have many questions... Why didn't Cas tell Poppy about their marriage before announcing it in public if it was very important for people to believe it was a true marriage? Is Cas a Primal??? Is there some merit to our reincarnation theory??? It goes without saying that we cannot wait to see where Book 6 takes us!

We dive deep into the book, talking about theories we have about the book, Cas, the world and the lore in the Kingdom of Solis and beyond!

In this section of chapters we go back to wondering about Kieran, is he a seer and did he push Cas towards Poppy? Or is he a victoer even? We watch Cas start to catch feelings for Poppy and we miss this version of Cas and their banter. We also have questions, Cas thinks Poppy has Atlantian blood before he tastes her blood, but then when he tastes it, he seems shocked. In future books, we also can't wait to see Millie and Poppy's relationship to develope in the future, but we DO wonder what might have happened when Millie was with Poppy, and said nothing to her. In the upcoming books, we would also like to hear more about the mating bond, was it behind Cas's desire to feed from Poppy? With the end of the book coming up, perhaps we will get our answers!

In our next set of chapters we truly go on a journey, all of the hosts get the ice from Cas, even as he starts to come to terms with his feelings. We, once again, question the Blood Crown and why they are making the decisions they did for Poppy, as we think it would only push her away instead of making her loyal. Katie has an epiphany, is it Cas we like or is it Hawke? We think we know our answers. We once again live through Vikter’s death, and it’s just as heartbreaking as the first time. WHAT IS MILLE?! Hearing about Valyn once again, and his advice for Cas, we have feelings and questions on what he has told Cas. As the Rite hits, and mortals are lost in the chaos, we try and make sense of what the Descenters did when they killed some of them, why if they could join their cause? Kristen has an interesting prediction on Tawny and Kieran, and we question Kieran more, is he a seer?

Come join us as we read through "A Soul of Ash and Blood" book 5 of the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. In this episode we will be covering chapters 34-44! We dive deep into the book, talking about theories we have about the book, Cas, the world and the lore in the Kingdom of Solis and beyond!

As we continue reading in Cas's POV, the Distracto Squad, as Katie and Kristen call themselves, go on a few side quests, but we do try and stay on topic, even if we are left with a lot of questions, including the big timeline questions on the present chapters. Reading back to the beginning of our story we reflect back on the relationship Cas and Poppy had when starting this journey and how we miss the banter, and how Cas was when being Hawke. There are also a lot of questions, and confusion, on how Poppy is treated, given she is supposed to be chosen by the Gods, and yet people are still cruel to her. We finally hear from another POV (Cas's) what it feels like to have Poppy use her gifts on him, which is very interesting. We get out introduction to Miss Willa's diary, and it's just as fun the second time. It is also in this set of chapters where we get to see the Duke pass, and it's just as good as we hoped it would be.

In this episode we continue to read in Casteel's POV. We start to wonder how much time has passed with Poppy in stasis, and we get to see more of the relationship dynamic between Cas and Victor. We develop another crockpot theory about Millie and Callum and have QUESTIONS about Cas's compulsion, the mist, and the craven. We hear the story of Poppy's craven attack again and how Ian was saved during the attack and we begin to question who was it that saved him, and why in her memory, her parents were helpless and couldn't fight back, when we know they were in fact, trained to fight.

It all started when a girl met a boy and they fell in love.... wait that's the wrong plot, we need some Fae! It all started back in 2015, when Sarah J Maas decided to start her second series, A Court of Thorns and Roses and we all fell in love, or some of us did anyway. Jumping forward 11 years later, Amanda, one of our hosts, still has not read the ACOTAR series! With books 6 and 7 coming out, and having just gotten into the romantasy genre, we decided to sit her down and ask her some questions about what she thought of A Court of Mist and Fury as a first time reader.

From what she thought about Rhysand, the rest of the Bat Boys, and if her thoughts changed on Nesta, Elaine & Feyre. We learn more about her loathing of Tampon... oops we mean Tamlin, to what her favourite part of ACOMAF was.
