Bo Horvat is officially the new captain of the New York Islanders, ending a training camp mystery and stepping into the role he’s been primed for since arriving in Long Island. The 16th captain in franchise history, Horvat previously wore the “C” in Vancouver and has already served as an alternate captain here, proving his leadership on and off the ice. With former captain Anders Lee departing for Utah, Horvat was the clear choice — confirmed by coach Pete DeBoer after months of speculation. The team can now move forward with their leadership locked in.
