  • Ep 13 - SpyGame
    2026/07/28
Justin and Jesse take on an episode that neither of them ranks as a favorite — and still pull out a full table's worth of truth. When Bluey's spy-potion game collapses under her own bossiness, the fallout becomes a picture of why God designed us for community from the very first pages of Scripture. Along the way: a rock-stacking metaphor that doesn't quite stick, a cup in the ocean, and Bluey learning to put Bingo first. What we unpack this episode: - The meltdown — assigned roles nobody wants, and how "taking your ball and going home" wrecks the game. - Bossiness bites back — Bluey refuses to use Bingo's pretend name (Sparkle Shocks), then kicks her out entirely. - Bandit's pack metaphor — "We all have a place in the pack," even when the stack-of-rocks illustration doesn't land. - The turn — Bluey realizes the game is simply better with her sister in it, and finally apologizes. - Putting others first — Bluey steps back so Bingo can take the moment, a picture of Christ-shaped humility. Scripture in this episode: - Genesis 2:18 — "It is not good that man should be alone"; community is built into creation. - Ephesians 3:17-19 — rooted in love and filled with God's fullness, known together "with all the saints." - Hebrews 10:24-25 — a staple verse at our church: don't forsake gathering; spur one another on. - Philippians 2:1-4 — count others more important than yourself; the opposite of selfish ambition. • Ep 12 - Bob Bilby
    2026/05/14

Welcome back to another exciting episode of Bluey and the Bible! In Episode 12, we are tackling the infamous grade school project: taking home the class pet.

Bingo brings home a stuffed bilby named Bob, expecting a weekend full of fun family adventures to document for her class book. However, the Heelers run into a hilariously relatable snag—the entire family is glued to their screens. After snapping photos of Bob watching cartoons in the car and playing mindless tablet games, Bingo makes a tragic discovery: this is the most boring time Bob has ever had!

To save the weekend, Bandit ditches the digital devices, busts out an old Polaroid camera from when he "used to be cool," and leads the family on an epic, screen-free bike ride to the park.

In this episode, we unpack the very real struggle of screen time in modern parenting and how easily it can take over our lives. We dive into how our screen habits can actually reveal what our hearts truly treasure, drawing on timeless wisdom from verses like Luke 12:34 and Psalm 90:12. Join us for some honest confessions, practical tips, and plenty of laughs as we discuss how to put down the phones and intentionally redeem the time with our kids.

Tune in to hear the full discussion—and to find out why you should definitely know the difference between an Australian wallaby and a bilby!

Solo Short: Spotlight on Chilli Heeler!

Welcome to a special, bite-sized character breakdown on the Blue in the Bible podcast! With Jesse out this week, Justin is flying solo to shine the spotlight on everyone's favorite red-and-cream Heeler mom, Chilli. In this fun, five-minute dive, Justin explores what makes Chilli such a fantastic mother to Bluey and Bingo, from her amazing multitasking skills to her willingness to jump right into their imaginative play.

We'll also dig into some fun character details and hilarious online rumors, like the theory that Chilli's part-time job in airport security might mean she and Bandit are secretly running an espionage or art heist ring!

Along the way, Justin connects Chilli's nurturing nature to the Proverbs 31 woman and discusses how a mother and father's balancing dynamics reflect a beautiful, complete image of God. Plus, as a fellow redhead with a family of redheads, Justin shares his personal appreciation for Chilli's ginger fur!
