  • What was the Last Thing you Faxed?
    2026/09/03
It's been a busy week for Manchester City. It all started with a comprehensive 4-1 win at Crystal Palace, with impressive performances from a number of players. David Mooney is joined by City fans Bob Toole and Gaz to discuss what happened at Selhurst Park, with a keen eye on Rayan Cherki, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden. Ahead of that game, it was felt that the squad was far from finished. So with late moves in the transfer window for Iliman Ndiaye, Allan and Enzo Fernandez (on top of the previous business this summer), how is it all feeling now? We take a look at one of City's busiest transfer windows. Alex Howell and Katie Wrench from the Citizens Trust speak to the show about what the new supporters' union has achieved in its first few months, while author and Porto fan Miguel Lourenço Pereira explains what City can expect in their first Champions League game. We also look ahead to what side Enzo Maresca may pick for this weekend's match with Coventry. Oh... and what were the best and worst transfer deadline days from years gone by? ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. • The Oracle of the Universe
    2026/08/27
After the last-gasp win over Bournemouth, David Mooney is joined by City fan Richard Burns and, from Sky Sports, Ben Ransom to discuss everything that happened in Enzo Maresca's first Premier League game in charge. Marc Guehi was a surprise inclusion in the midfield, while the VAR overturn in stoppage time was a welcome surprise given City's history was the video referee in the closing stages of matches. The turnaround on Sunday was the latest City have been losing a Premier League match that they've gone on to win since the famous QPR game in 2012, so Bethan Holmes takes a look at all the other times since then that the team has been behind in the final 10 minutes only to go on and win. With Crystal Palace coming up on Friday night, we hear from Eagles fan Robbie Scotcher all about their start to the season and how their preparations have gone throughout the summer. Plus, will City have any more new faces through the door by the time the game arrives (or at least before the transfer deadline passes next week)? On top of all of that, we're talking about a Haaland haircut, life inside a black hole, and City's best one-season wonders. ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. • The Willies Aren't Not Up Me
    2026/08/19
After a humbling afternoon in Cardiff, David Mooney is joined by City fan Dan Burke and, from Sporting News, Dom Farrell to pick over the defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield. It wasn't really the scoreline that put the frighteners on anyone, more the manner of the loss... so what does that mean for City in the early stages of the Enzo Maresca era? As Rodri leaves for Barcelona and as it looks like there may be further midfield departures, we take a look at the shape the squad is in ahead of the match with Bournemouth. What can we expect from the opening Premier League game of the season? It was also reported this week that Rodri had refused to play for City if they didn't sanction a sale this summer... Except he didn't say that. We're taking a look at why fake news appears to be at an all time high this year. Plus, we also speak to the author and City fan Alex Timperley, whose new book 'For The Love: How Football Supporters Can Change the World' is out now. ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon.
