"Blether with Barberra"

Real talk. Real people. Real health – for humans and their pets.

Welcome to Blether with Barberra, the podcast where no topic is too awkward, no story too raw, and no conversation off-limits.

Hosted by Brian, passionate advocate for both human and animal wellbeing, and proud dog dad to the incomparable Barbara (yes, he’s the “Barberra” in the title!) — this show is all about talking honestly about the things that truly matter.

Each month, Brian sits down with a diverse mix of guests — from doctors, nutritionists, and therapists to advocates, celebrities, and everyday heroes — for open, heartfelt conversations about all things health. Whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, or even animal health, if it affects humans or their pets, we’re going to blether about it.

💬 Expect conversations like:

A Men’s Mental Health advocate sharing how vulnerability saved his life.

A leading animal nutritionist explaining how your dog’s diet affects their mood.

A celebrity opening up about navigating menopause in the public eye.

A doctor breaking down myths about food, sleep, and stress.

A pet owner’s moving story of recovery and the animal that helped them heal.

“Blether with Barberra” is not your average wellness show — it’s a space for truth, laughter, compassion, and the occasional cheeky tangent. Here, science meets soul, and conversation replaces stigma.

Our goal?

To educate, empower, and encourage people to take charge of their health (and their pets’ too), while easing some of the strain on an already stretched UK health and social care system.

Because healing doesn’t always start in a doctor’s office — sometimes, it starts with a blether.

🎙️ Podcast launches January 2026.

Grab a cuppa, get comfy, and join the conversation that could change how you think about health — one honest chat at a time.

  • Why Does One Drink Ruin Tomorrow? with Paul Lagerstedt
    2026/08/10

In this episode of Blether with Barberra, Brian is joined again by Paul Lagerstedt for a conversation about drinking culture, alcohol-related discomfort, moderation, intention and why different drinks can affect people in different ways.

Paul challenges the common idea that feeling rough after drinking is always simply about dehydration, and explains why he became interested in what is actually inside alcoholic drinks — including fermentation by-products and trace compounds such as histamines, sulphites, tannins and acetaldehyde.

Brian and Paul also explore conscious drinking versus habitual drinking, the culture of accepting discomfort as “the price you pay”, and why pausing before the first sip may change the ritual around alcohol.

  • What Did Survival Cost You? with Rachel Baldock
    2026/08/03

In this episode of Blether with Barberra, Brian is joined by Rachel Baldock for an honest conversation about survival mode, breathwork, self-connection, emotional suppression and learning how to feel again.

Rachel shares her journey from nursing into yoga, breathwork and intuitive coaching, and speaks openly about chronic anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, addiction, recovery and purpose.

Together, Brian and Rachel explore what it means to move from surviving into thriving, why the body can hold emotions we have buried, and how small acts of self-connection can begin to change the way we live.

This is a conversation about honesty, nervous-system survival, compassion, self-awareness and the cost of spending years simply trying to get through the day.
