"Blether with Barberra"

Real talk. Real people. Real health – for humans and their pets.

Welcome to Blether with Barberra, the podcast where no topic is too awkward, no story too raw, and no conversation off-limits.

Hosted by Brian, passionate advocate for both human and animal wellbeing, and proud dog dad to the incomparable Barbara (yes, he’s the “Barberra” in the title!) — this show is all about talking honestly about the things that truly matter.

Each month, Brian sits down with a diverse mix of guests — from doctors, nutritionists, and therapists to advocates, celebrities, and everyday heroes — for open, heartfelt conversations about all things health. Whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, or even animal health, if it affects humans or their pets, we’re going to blether about it.

💬 Expect conversations like:

A Men’s Mental Health advocate sharing how vulnerability saved his life.

A leading animal nutritionist explaining how your dog’s diet affects their mood.

A celebrity opening up about navigating menopause in the public eye.

A doctor breaking down myths about food, sleep, and stress.

A pet owner’s moving story of recovery and the animal that helped them heal.

“Blether with Barberra” is not your average wellness show — it’s a space for truth, laughter, compassion, and the occasional cheeky tangent. Here, science meets soul, and conversation replaces stigma.

Our goal?

To educate, empower, and encourage people to take charge of their health (and their pets’ too), while easing some of the strain on an already stretched UK health and social care system.

Because healing doesn’t always start in a doctor’s office — sometimes, it starts with a blether.

🎙️ Podcast launches January 2026.

Grab a cuppa, get comfy, and join the conversation that could change how you think about health — one honest chat at a time.

  • Why Do Young People Stop Caring? with Lawrence C. Harris
    2026/07/13

Why do some young people stop caring about the future?

In this powerful episode of Blether with Barberra, Brian Caldwell-White speaks with youth speaker and author Lawrence C. Harris about what really sits underneath apathy, low motivation and emotional shutdown in young people.

Drawing from his own lived experience of autism, childhood abuse, bullying, therapy and being kicked out at a young age, Lawrence shares why some young people are not lazy or entitled — but exhausted, disconnected and struggling to believe they matter.

Together, Brian and Lawrence explore self-worth, purpose, emotional pain, identity and the hidden reasons some young people appear to stop caring.

This is a deeply honest conversation for parents, carers, teachers, professionals and anyone who wants to better understand trauma, resilience and young people’s mental wellbeing.

  • What Did The Hospital Miss? | Dr Nikhit Anilbhai
    2026/07/06

In this episode of Blether with Barberra, Brian Caldwell-White speaks with Dr Nikhit Anilbhai, a medical doctor and healthcare technology founder, about patient monitoring, healthcare innovation and the human cost of missed warning signs.

Dr Nikhit shares how his experience working as a doctor during the pandemic, losing patients, and later losing his own father shaped his mission to improve the way patients are monitored in hospitals and beyond.

The conversation explores the difference between periodic checks and continuous monitoring, why some patients deteriorate before anyone realises how serious the situation has become, and how healthcare technology could help clinicians identify changes earlier.

Brian also brings his medicolegal background and personal experience of healthcare into the discussion, exploring patient safety, prevention, health anxiety, proactive care and the need to ask better questions about how we look after people when they are at their most vulnerable.

This episode is a thoughtful conversation about medicine, technology, grief, innovation and what can happen when healthcare systems miss the signs.
