  • #8 - Snooze to Success - How standing up at 5 a.m. has changed my life ⏰
    2024/09/16

Hey everybody! Welcome to Big Sister Chats, the podcast where we dive into all things mental health, physical well-being, and cultivating a positive mindset. ✨

Get comfortable or pretend that we’re on a phone call like siblings who talk about life experiences. This is how I want this podcast to feel like - a place where you can share your worries and I can offer my advice and hopefully make you feel a bit better. 💕

Whether it’s about growing in life or tackling everyday challenges, I’ve got you covered. 💪

In this episode, we are talking about standing up early - whether that means 5 a.m., earlier or later. 🤍

It seems the number one rule for a successful life is standing up early. Like … really early.

Depending on who you ask, people stand up at six, five, four, even three in the morning. And it sounds a little crazy. But actually a lot of people do it. And because I´m one of those crazy people, let´s talk about standing up early.

☕☕If we were having Coffee …☕☕

This is our format where I tell you a little bit about me and how my life is going right now. It’s inspired by a newsletter from TheBlissBean

    if we were having coffee

    • I would tell you that … I’m working on my short movie project “OPSIS” a lot. We finally have all the music tracks ready and I’m so excited to share them with the world.
    • I would tell you that … I found a new favorite cafê! There is a really cute one not too far from my place and they have so comfortable chair that are actually swings. Plus, they play so nice background music all the time.
    • And I would tell you that … I’m already planning what to do after that short movie project is done - probably I’ll sign up for dance classes.

Now, if we were having coffee, I’d also love to hear your stories. Actually, Spotify seems to have a feature now where you can comment directly under the episode. Or you can also let me know what has been going on in your life lately on YouTube or Instagram.

    • How you can stand up earlier.
    • The best tips and tricks for actually using that extra time.

    Recap & Key Take-Aways

So, let’s recap what we’ve learned today:

    • Waking up early gives you time to focus on what really matters before the distractions of the day kick in.
    • It’s not always easy, but with some adjustments and clear intentions, it’s totally doable.
    • Try waking up just 30 minutes earlier than usual and use that time for something important to you.

  • #7 - The Art of Self-Care Beyond Bubble Baths
    2024/09/02

Hey everybody! Welcome to Big Sister Chats, the podcast where we dive into all things mental health, physical well-being, and cultivating a positive mindset. ✨

Get comfortable or pretend that we’re on a phone call like siblings who talk about life experiences. This is how I want this podcast to feel like - a place where you can share your worries and I can offer my advice and hopefully make you feel a bit better. 💕

Whether it’s about growing in life or tackling everyday challenges, I’ve got you covered. 💪

In this episode, we are talking about self care. 🤍

"Go take a bubble bath and you’ll feel fine." Yeah, babes, that’s not how it works, sadly.

Self-Care. The word is all over social media. So I wondered: Is it just a trend? Just a vibe or a style that some people have? Is it just a fancy word, like we call regular walks “hot girl walks” now?

But I realized it’s not. Or it shouldn’t be. While it all seems so perfect on Instagram and Co, self care isn’t just putting cucumbers on your eyes, living a minimalist lifestyle and standing up at 5 in the morning. 👑

In this episode we´ll touch on:

    • What is self-care, really?
    • How do I practice self-care without feeling guilty?
    • Living Life vs. The Life on Social Media

Redefine Self-Care as a Daily Essential, Not a Luxury

Self-care isn’t just about treating yourself; it's about taking care of your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It can be as simple as setting boundaries, getting enough sleep, or saying no to things that drain you.

    Recap & Key Take-Aways

So, let’s recap what we’ve learned today:

Redefine Self-Care: It's not just about an aesthetic; it's taking care of your overall well-being.

Incorporate Self-Care into Daily Life: Small, consistent practices like taking breaks, breathing exercises, or setting boundaries can have a big impact.

Self-Care is Personal: Your routine should be tailored to what genuinely recharges you; it's okay if it doesn't look like everyone else's.

Consistency Over Perfection: Self-care is about growth, not perfection.

There are so many forms of Self-Care: find what works best for you.

Self-Care isn’t just a Trend: While self-care is popular, it’s more than a trend—it's a lifelong practice essential for managing stress and maintaining balance in a fast-paced world.

Thank you for tuning in to today’s episode. If you liked it, please consider to like and subscribe to this podcast and let me hear your feedback over on Instagram. See you soon!

  • #5 - Reduce your screen time
    2024/08/19

Hey everybody! Welcome to Big Sister Chats, the podcast where we dive into all things mental health, physical well-being, and cultivating a positive mindset. ✨ Get comfortable or pretend that we’re on a phone call like siblings who talk about life experiences. This is how I want this podcast to feel like - a place where you can share your worries and I can offer my advice and hopefully make you feel a bit better. 💕

Whether it’s about growing in life or tackling everyday challenges, I’ve got you covered. 💪

In this episode, we are talking about how to spend your time more wisely by reducing your screen time and spending less time on your phone. 🤍

There are a couple of hacks that can help making your phone less addicting. Remember: These devices and apps are made to keep you there as long as possible, but you got this! 👑

Growing up with three brothers, I always wished I had another woman to turn to for advice. If you’ve ever felt the same way, you’re in the right place. 💅

Here are my notes on this episode:

We all only have 24 hours in a day but somehow some people seem to achieve more than others. Most of us do have some time we could spend

First, let’s do an audit and check just how much time we are spending on our phones. You can check your settings for your screen time.

⇒ On which apps do you want to cut back?

⇒ What “doesn’t count” like Spotify or where can it even be useful like Duolingo?

⇒ When do you use your phone when you could be doing something more productive or fun?

    Recap & Key Take-Aways

    • Do an audit
    • Greyscale
    • Work Mode: No messages between 7-16
    • one sec app
    • Have a dedicated place away from your work place / leave it at home
    • max. Screen Time (for certain apps)
    • MINDSET SHIFT: Don´t delete the app (you´ll re-download), make a new account and suddenly the algorithm isn´t fun anymore and you won´t be so tempted + all your drafts won´t be gone
    • Planning: What are you gonna do instead of being on your phone? F.e. set the intention to write a chapter and THEN you can go on your phone.
