In this episode of Big Gay Energy Podcast, we dive into the first half of Juliet & Juliet, the new Thai GL series from one31 starring Mingming and Nepjune as Tokyo and Blue.

Inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Juliet & Juliet transforms the classic story of star-crossed lovers into a forbidden romance between two women from rival families. The series follows Tokyo and Blue as their relationship develops against a backdrop of family conflict, power, violence, and secrets.

We discuss:

• Our first impressions of Juliet & Juliet• Mingming and Nepjune's chemistry as Tokyo and Blue• The show's forbidden romance and rival family dynamics• How Juliet & Juliet reimagines Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet• The similarities and differences between the Thai GL, Shakespeare's play, and Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet• The significance of making both lovers "Juliets"• The show's school setting and darker mafia-inspired storyline• Tokyo and Blue's evolving relationship• The balance between romance, drama, violence, and family conflict• The cinematography, music, and overall visual style• What the series does differently from previous Romeo and Juliet adaptations• Our predictions for the second half of the season

Can Juliet & Juliet escape the tragedy of its source material, or are Tokyo and Blue destined to repeat Romeo and Juliet's fate?

Tell us what you think of the series so far and share your predictions for the rest of the season.
