Are you exhausted from trends, protocols, supplements, and routines that worked for a while… until they didn’t?

Does managing your health feel like a full-time mental job instead of something that supports your life?

Do symptoms send you into a spiral... ChatGPT’ing, overthinking, and wondering what you missed or how to make it all work?

I’m so glad you’re here.

This podcast is for women who are ready to detox from health obsession and step into a calmer, more sustainable way of caring for their bodies, one that fits real life, restores peace, and rebuilds trust instead of pressure.

This podcast helps you move away from fear-based health decisions and into confidence, clarity, and steady understanding without tracking every metric, chasing every trend, or feeling like you’re never doing enough.

I’m Dr. Brook, a chiropractor, wife, and mom who lived inside wellness culture longer than I care to admit. I wasn’t careless with my health; I was hyper-focused on it. My thoughts revolved around food, supplements, routines, optimization, and doing everything “right” until health became something I managed instead of something that supported my life.

What I learned, personally and professionally, is that the body doesn’t heal through perfect rituals. It heals when it feels safe, when it’s listened to, and when it’s trusted.

God designed the body with wisdom, and it speaks in whispers... not fear, not force, and not performance.

When I finally paused long enough to listen, I could hear the whispers, and everything changed — and that shift now shapes how I help women move from overwhelm to trust, from striving to peace, and from control to connection.

If you’re ready for health that fits your life, not the other way around…
If you want to release the pressure to always do more…
If you want to understand what your body is asking for without panic or spiraling…
And return to health that supports your faith, family, and life…

Beyond Wellness Culture is for you.

This is where we step out of wellness burnout and learn how to understand the body in a new way, rebuilding a steady, faith-anchored relationship with the body you live in.

Take a breath, close the tabs, and let’s talk about health without the spiral.

  • 68: Could Your Overwhelm Actually Be ADHD? Masking, Rejection Sensitivity + Late Diagnosis in Women ft. Dr. Jennifer Dall
    2026/10/22
What if the reason you have always felt scattered, overwhelmed, too sensitive, or unable to “just be more disciplined” is not because you are doing something wrong? For many women with ADHD, the signs do not look like the stereotype. You may have degrees. A career. A family. A full calendar. You may look completely put together from the outside while your brain feels like it has 50,000 tabs open on the inside. That was Dr. Jennifer Dall’s experience.Dr. Jen was diagnosed with ADHD in her 50s after years of being told she could not possibly have it because she was successful, educated, and functioning well on the outside. In this episode, Dr. Jen joins Dr. Brook for a conversation about how ADHD can show up differently in women, why so many women learn to mask what is happening internally, and how years of being misunderstood can turn into stories like:Why am I so lazy? Why am I so sensitive? Why can everyone else handle this? Why can’t I just get myself together? They also unpack rejection sensitivity dysphoria, or RSD, and why something as small as an unanswered text can trigger a spiral that feels emotionally and even physically painful.Dr. Jen shares practical ways to recognize what is happening without fighting yourself, reconnect with your body, ground yourself in the moment, and begin experimenting with strategies that actually work for your brain instead of forcing yourself into somebody else’s system. In this episode, you’ll hear:Why ADHD in women is often missed or mistaken for a personality problemHow women learn to mask ADHD symptoms to appear capable on the outsideHow to begin separating modern-life overwhelm from patterns that may have been present since childhoodWhy looking back at the stories people told you about yourself can reveal important cluesWhat rejection sensitivity dysphoria can feel like in everyday relationshipsWhy RSD can feel physically painful, not just mentally uncomfortableHow to interrupt an emotional spiral without denying what you are feelingWhy fighting your emotions often makes the experience harderHow grief, caregiving, career changes, and other transitions can make ADHD symptoms harder to manageWhy strategies that worked in one season may stop working in anotherHow to treat new strategies like experiments instead of rigid rulesWhy basic needs like food, hydration, sleep, movement, and fresh air still matterHow overstimulation can quietly add to overwhelmWhy the best tool is the one that actually works for your nervous system and your bodyOne question to come back to when wellness advice starts becoming too muchOne of the biggest shifts Dr. Jen encourages is learning to recognize what is happening without turning that information into another reason to criticize yourself.Instead of:“What is wrong with me?”You can begin to say:“Okay. This is what is happening right now. What do I need?”Because understanding your brain is not about collecting another label or another list of things to fix.It can be a way to quiet some of the noise, work with yourself differently, and build a life that fits the way you actually function.CONNECT WITH DR. • 67: When Healing Becomes a Full-Time Job: Root Causes, Testing + Why the Basics Still Matter ft. Shannon Salge
    2026/10/15
What happens when you are doing all the tests, taking all the supplements, seeing all the practitioners, and still do not feel well?Shannon Salge knows that experience firsthand. In her 20s, she was a professional dancer, bodybuilder, high achiever, and someone who looked healthy from the outside. But underneath that image, she was dealing with severe joint pain, gut issues, hormone problems, fatigue, hair loss, cystic acne, and eventually needed a cane just to get around. After dozens of specialist appointments, multiple MRIs, a colonoscopy, and eventually an autoimmune diagnosis, Shannon began looking beyond the standard approach and into functional testing, nutrition, and later bioresonance. In this episode, Shannon joins Dr. Brook for a conversation about what it can look like when health starts taking over your life. They talk about why labs can give useful information without telling the whole story, how bioresonance looks at what the body may be prioritizing, and why constantly chasing the next test, supplement, cleanse, or protocol can leave you feeling more overwhelmed instead of more confident. They also come back to something that is easy to skip when wellness culture gets complicated:The foundations still matter.Hydration. Blood sugar. Stress. Sleep. Circadian rhythm. Minerals. Getting outside. The simple things may not feel exciting, but they often matter more than the next expensive protocol. In this episode, you’ll hear:Shannon’s journey from professional dancer and bodybuilder to struggling with severe chronic symptomsWhat changed after years of being told her symptoms were normal or anxietyWhy looking healthy on the outside does not always mean the body is functioning wellWhat bioresonance is and how Shannon uses it alongside functional testingWhy lab results are only one piece of the health pictureWhat it means to work with the body’s innate intelligenceWhy “root cause” may go deeper than parasites, candida, thyroid issues, or low ferritinHow chronic stress and unresolved emotional patterns may affect the healing processWhy throwing more supplements at the body is not always the answerHow wellness culture can turn healing into a full-time jobWhy different people may need completely different levels of supportWhy healing is not always linearHow a multidisciplinary approach can sometimes be the right approachWhy you do not need one practitioner to have every answerThe foundations Shannon comes back to again and again when someone feels overwhelmedOne of the biggest themes in this conversation is simple:More information does not always create more clarity.Sometimes the next step is not another test.Sometimes it is coming back to the basics, paying attention to what your body is communicating, and asking what actually needs your attention right now.As Shannon puts it:“The foundations work. Don’t skip them.”CONNECT WITH SHANNONNewsletter: https://www.thewellnessparadigm.com/reclaim-your-health-email-joinThe Wellness Paradigm Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-wellness-paradigm/id1809268079Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/shannon.salge/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shannon.salge/Free Facebook Group: https://bit.ly/TWP_Free_Group✨ Your body has been trying to tell you something.Find out what it's saying with the free 30-second Body Signal Decoder Assessment. • 66: Why You Keep Pushing People Away: Rejection, Shame + the Emotions Your Body Is Carrying ft. Victoria Lane
    2026/10/08

What if the reaction you keep having today actually started years ago?

Maybe someone looks at you a certain way and you immediately assume you did something wrong.

Maybe you pull away before someone has the chance to reject you.

Maybe you keep telling yourself you are “fine,” while resentment, shame, anger, or hurt keeps building underneath the surface.

In this episode, Dr. Brook is joined again by her friend Victoria Lane for a conversation about the parts of health that often get overlooked when we focus only on the physical.

Physical health matters. But so do the spiritual, emotional, and mental pieces of what you are carrying.

Victoria shares how rejection became a lens through which she viewed relationships, opportunities, and even herself, and how those deeper beliefs can shape the way we respond long after the original hurt happened.

They also talk about the difference between guilt and shame, why unresolved emotions do not simply disappear when we avoid them, and how old hurt can show up through isolation, defensiveness, resentment, self-doubt, and the ways we relate to other people.

And this conversation does not stop at identifying what hurts.

Brook and Victoria talk about what it can look like to face the hurt, have the uncomfortable conversation, release false beliefs, seek support when needed, and come back to your identity in Christ.

    In this episode, you’ll hear:

    • How rejection can become a lens through which you interpret everyday interactions
    • Why you may reject someone before they ever have the chance to reject you
    • How rejection can affect confidence and self-worth
    • The difference between “I did something bad” and “I am bad”
    • How shame, anger, resentment, bitterness, and unforgiveness can become tangled together
    • Why the issue bothering you today may have a much deeper root
    • What can happen when you continually suppress hurt instead of addressing it
    • Why facing conflict can sometimes be part of healing
    • When deeper emotional patterns may call for therapy rather than coaching
    • How identity in Christ changes the way you see yourself and other people
    • Why joy and playfulness can become harder to access when resentment and bitterness take up too much space
    • What it can look like to return to childlike joy as an adult

Brook also shares a deeply personal example of what can happen when big emotions are repeatedly pushed down instead of given a healthy place to move.

Because emotions are part of how God designed you.

They are not meant to be ignored.

They are not meant to become your identity either.

They can visit, teach you something, and move through rather than taking up permanent residency in your body.
