Are you exhausted from trends, protocols, supplements, and routines that worked for a while… until they didn’t?

Does managing your health feel like a full-time mental job instead of something that supports your life?

Do symptoms send you into a spiral... ChatGPT’ing, overthinking, and wondering what you missed or how to make it all work?

I’m so glad you’re here.

This podcast is for women who are ready to detox from health obsession and step into a calmer, more sustainable way of caring for their bodies, one that fits real life, restores peace, and rebuilds trust instead of pressure.

This podcast helps you move away from fear-based health decisions and into confidence, clarity, and steady understanding without tracking every metric, chasing every trend, or feeling like you’re never doing enough.

I’m Dr. Brook, a chiropractor, wife, and mom who lived inside wellness culture longer than I care to admit. I wasn’t careless with my health; I was hyper-focused on it. My thoughts revolved around food, supplements, routines, optimization, and doing everything “right” until health became something I managed instead of something that supported my life.

What I learned, personally and professionally, is that the body doesn’t heal through perfect rituals. It heals when it feels safe, when it’s listened to, and when it’s trusted.

God designed the body with wisdom, and it speaks in whispers... not fear, not force, and not performance.

When I finally paused long enough to listen, I could hear the whispers, and everything changed — and that shift now shapes how I help women move from overwhelm to trust, from striving to peace, and from control to connection.

If you’re ready for health that fits your life, not the other way around…
If you want to release the pressure to always do more…
If you want to understand what your body is asking for without panic or spiraling…
And return to health that supports your faith, family, and life…

Beyond Wellness Culture is for you.

This is where we step out of wellness burnout and learn how to understand the body in a new way, rebuilding a steady, faith-anchored relationship with the body you live in.

Take a breath, close the tabs, and let’s talk about health without the spiral.

  • 57: Deny Yourself: What Wellness Culture Gets Wrong About Your Body
    2026/08/06

Welcome to part one of a four part series called Body Theology, where Dr. Brook Sheehan builds a full biblical foundation for why the way you treat your body actually matters to God.

This episode starts at the very beginning, asking a simple but important question: was your body ever the problem in the first place? Drawing from Genesis 1:27 and Psalm 139:14, Brook makes the case that your body was designed with intention, not defaulted into existence, and that listening to it is not in conflict with the biblical call to deny yourself.

The key is understanding two different Greek words that get flattened into one in English: sarx, the flesh, meaning the sin nature we are called to deny, and soma, the body, which scripture consistently treats as good and worth caring for.

Brook unpacks how confusing these two concepts is where so much unnecessary guilt comes from, and shares a client story along with her own experience gaining weight in chiropractic school to show what happens when you finally stop forcing your body and start asking it what it actually needs.

She walks through the bodyOS framework of pause, connect, ask, and adjust, and explains how this discernment becomes a spiritual practice, not just a wellness one.

This episode sets the stage for the rest of the Body Theology series, including next week's conversation on when caring for your body tips into worshiping it instead.

  • 56: Why Minerals (Not Magnesium Pills) Fix Your Hormones ft. Caroline Alan
    2026/07/30

Dr. Brook sits down with Caroline Alan, co-founder and CEO of BEAM Minerals, to talk about the missing piece so many women overlook when they're exhausted, hormonal, and stuck in a cycle of trying everything without results. Caroline shares her own health story, from an autoimmune condition and mold exposure to flatlined adrenals, chronic insomnia, and years of struggling with fertility, and how she finally found relief not through another protocol but through plant-based minerals. Within months of adding them to her routine, her gum health, sleep, and adrenal function all began to shift, and within less than a year, symptoms she'd carried for most of her life resolved.

The conversation dives into why so many women feel like they're doing everything right and still struggling with their hormones. Caroline explains that hormones, thyroid, and adrenal health work together as a three legged stool, and chasing one symptom at a time often turns into a game of whack-a-mole. She unpacks why treating the body like a car, something you simply refuel with a recommended daily allowance of a single nutrient, misses the point entirely. The body runs more like a forest ecosystem, where minerals have to show up in balanced ratios for your bodyOS to actually use them. Popping a high dose magnesium pill in isolation isn't the support it seems to be, because most of it never even reaches the cells that need it.

Caroline also breaks down the difference between fulvic and humic minerals, how each one plays a distinct role in energy production and gentle detoxification, and why bioavailability matters so much more than dosage. She and Dr. Brook talk about common signs of mineral deficiency, including muscle cramping, twitching, headaches, and sleep disruption, and why supplementation alone often isn't enough without true replenishment. Caroline shares more from her book, The Mineral Reset, and the mindset shift she hopes it gives women: to stop treating their body like a machine to be topped off and start building a relationship with it like a living ecosystem that has real wisdom.

If you've ever felt like your health has become a full time job with no clear answers, this episode offers a refreshingly simple place to start. Caroline shares where to find her mineral deficiency quiz, her book, and BEAM Minerals' products, all linked below.

  • 55: For the Woman Who Manages Everything: Why Trust Feels Like a Risk
    2026/07/23

In this episode, Dr. Brook explores a pattern that shows up far beyond physical health: the instinct to chase certainty by forcing control over symptoms, schedules, relationships, and even rest.

Building on the symptom chasing conversation from episode 53, she widens the lens to show how this same instinct drives overworking, overscheduling, obsessively checking bank accounts or social media, and rereading texts before sending them.

Underneath every version of this behavior is the same root cause, the discomfort of not knowing, and the belief that forcing an outcome is safer than trusting the process.

Dr. Brook shares her own story of learning to trust her body's pace instead of forcing it into someone else's timeline, along with a client story about a woman whose exhaustion came not from her workload but from the effort of controlling every detail of her life.

The episode brings in Proverbs 3:5-6 to explore how leaning on our own understanding can quietly replace trust in God, even when we don't consciously intend it to.

Dr. Brook offers a practical BodyOS reframe for noticing when you're forcing instead of trusting, walking through how to pause, ask whether the urge is coming from need or fear, identify which pillar physical, spiritual, emotional, or mental is driving the urge to control, and adjust only where it's truly needed.

She closes with a challenge to pick one area of chasing and practice leaving it alone for twenty four hours to see what comes up. Listeners are invited to take the Body Signal Decoder assessment to start identifying where they are forcing instead of trusting.
