    BETWEEN WORLDS

"Thresholds: Why Doorways Became Sacred" — Liminal Spaces & Sacred Boundaries

There is a liminal space that appears in nearly every culture on earth — the doorway.

A doorway is not a room. It is not a hallway. It is specifically the

threshold — the boundary itself. The place where you cross from one state of being to another.

And across cultures and throughout history, doorways have been treated as sacred. This episode explores why — and what we've lost by forgetting.

A conceptual breather that reframes how we see the everyday.

We explore the spaces between categories — the liminal territories where psychology meets spirituality, where culture shapes perception, where the line between what we can explain and what we cannot blurs.

  • Mirrors as Portals to the Self - What Your Reflection Is Really Telling You | Psychology & Spirituality
    2026/07/31

    BETWEEN WORLDS

"Mirrors as Portals to the Self" — What Your Reflection Is Really Telling You

You look in a mirror and see yourself. But cultures across the world have covered mirrors at funerals, feared breaking them, and treated them as doorways.

This episode explores what mirrors reveal about how we understand identity, soul, and the self. Why do we fear our own reflection? What is the mirror actually showing us?

A psychological and uncanny exploration of the spaces between.

  • The Evil Eye - When Attention Becomes a Weapon | Cross-Cultural Belief
    2026/07/24

A gaze so powerful it can harm. Envy so concentrated it wounds across distance. The evil eye appears in nearly every culture on earth. It's not superstition — it's recognition of a psychological truth: attention has power.

    BETWEEN WORLDS — SEASON 1

"Relics & Rituals" — Ten Objects the World Made Sacred

Where does the rational end and the irrational begin? Between Worlds explores the liminal territories where psychology meets spirituality, where culture shapes perception, where the line between what we can explain and what we cannot blurs.

This season: ten objects that every culture on earth has treated as sacred. Ten things — dolls, trees, mirrors, doorways, relics, masks, candles,

bells, keys — that carry meaning beyond their physical form. What these objects reveal about how human minds work. Why we project soul onto things. How the psychological and spiritual are often saying the same thing in different languages.

  • Why Dolls Become Haunted Across Cultures - Between Worlds
    2026/07/10

Why Dolls Become Haunted Across Cultures

A doll in Key West receives letters of apology from strangers. But Robert's story isn't unique. Nearly every civilisation — Egypt, Japan, Africa, the Americas, Europe — has independently concluded that human-shaped objects carry unusual power.

Why dolls? Why is it always the human likeness that becomes a vessel?

This episode explores two psychological phenomena: the Uncanny Valley (why dolls feel profoundly wrong) and Psychological Essentialism (why we

believe objects absorb soul from those who touch them).

Combine these two, and you understand why dolls have become haunted in

identical ways across cultures that never contacted each other.

We didn't invent the haunted doll. We built it into the object itself.
