概要

Much conjecture surrounds this text, but James hopes to show how it “manifested His glory.” While the coming of Christ was not a rejection of the Old Covenant, He is its fulfilment and as such has ushered in the New Covenant, a drastic improvement as it were, just as wine is better than water. As He is the fountain of living waters, so He is the true vine offering His blood as a ransom for many.
