What have you trained yourself to look for?

Right now, the world is very good at showing us what’s wrong.

Broken families. Struggling kids. Failing marriages. Angry politics. Weak men. A divided Church. AI. Outrage. Fear. Bad news everywhere.

The trash business is booming.

But what if followers of Jesus are supposed to see differently?

A gold miner doesn’t ignore the dirt. He simply knows the dirt isn’t all that’s there.

In this episode of Better Than Best Academy, we’re talking about cynicism, hope, Psalm 139, spiritual refinement, parenting, marriage, men, and what happens when we ask God to teach us to see beneath the surface.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart.”

Before God teaches us to find the gold in other people, He starts digging in us.

Choose one person—your spouse, your child, a friend, a student, a coworker, maybe even yourself—and ask God:

“Show me the gold.”

Then when you see it, call it out.

The world can keep screaming that the sky is falling.

We’ll keep digging.

God is still working.

And hope is still rising.
