Of course, nothing Bob said is written in stone, but that doesn't mean I wasn't still able to have some fun with the rumours. Sticking with contract extensions, I ran through the latest rumblings about Connor McDavid's upcoming extension, including potential dollar and term numbers from Frank Seravalli.

Either way, we're still weeks away from anything exciting happening barring some kind of trade or Connor McDavid extension, so the's little doubt that the Oilers talk was definitely lighter this week. Did that mean I didn't try to stretch out the news as long as possible anyway? Of course not.

Seeing as the schedule dropped this week, the countdown to the new season is on, and I wondered how close to a finished product the Oilers are as we speak in mid-July.
