In the final week of our series, When Crap Hits the Fan, we looked at what happens when the sin in our own lives causes chaos to happen. We talked about what it looks like to recognize our sin, take responsibility for our choices, turn back to God, and receive His forgiveness. Students were reminded that even when our sin has consequences, God’s grace is bigger than our mistakes and He invites us to run back to Him.

In the first week of our new series, Clickbait, we took a look at what temptation really is and why it can be so easy to fall for. We were reminded that temptation often promises something good, but ultimately pulls our hearts away from God. We challenged our students to recognize the lies of temptation, know how to respond when it comes, and remember that we should never exchange the Creator for the creation.

Why do we keep doing things we know we shouldn’t, even when we know what God says is right? In Week 2 of our teaching series, Click Bait, we talked about the battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit living in us as believers. Our sin nature constantly pulls us toward things that go against God, but we don’t have to give in! We looked at what it means to fight against those desires and choose to follow the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives.

Week 4 of our Gifted series took us into the topic of tongues. We looked at how language first became a source of confusion and division because of sin, but how through Jesus, what was broken is being brought back together. God’s desire has always been to unite people from every nation, tribe, and tongue through the gospel. In a world full of confusion, noise, and competing voices, we were challenged to be people who pursue truth and point others to the hope found in Christ.

Midweek is officially back! We’re kicking off a brand-new year and a brand-new series, Back to Church, where we’re getting back to the foundations of what we believe and why we believe it as the Church. On our first night, we talked about what it means to know God personally - because following Jesus is more than knowing about Him; it’s knowing Him and having a real relationship with Him.

This week we closed out our Back to Church series by talking all about how we can change the world with the gospel! When we understand the power of the good news of Jesus, we can’t keep it to ourselves. Our students were encouraged and challenged to be bold in sharing the gospel with everyone around them and to live as people who carry the hope of Jesus wherever they go.

As we wrap up this series, our prayer is that students would leave ready to boldly share the good news of Jesus and be a part of changing the world around them!
