  • From the Dream to the Starting Line!
    2026/08/03

Nearly a year ago, this journey began as little more than a dream.

Since then, we have built relationships, developed ideas, created an organisation and laid the foundations for something much bigger than any one person.

In this honest and personal reflection, I talk about stepping away from the Secretary General position and returning to the technical engineering role where I belong. I reflect on the work nobody sees, the personal battles behind the progress, and why building the mission for love rather than money has strengthened my belief that it can succeed.

There is also room for a mysterious new adventure, a possible return to Poland, the expanding Bear Brigade, Billy the Engine’s accidental roly-poly, Dave the Digger, Dara the Wheelbarrow and why nobody should ever be embarrassed to sit outside reading a library copy of Business Plans for Dummies.

    The dream became a vision.

    The vision became a platform.

Now, after nearly a year of building, we may finally have reached the starting line.

This is Being a Legend, Not an Expert! Honest, imperfect and still moving forward.

  • It’s the Passion: Building Something Bigger Than Me!
    2026/05/30

In this episode, I talk about the passion behind TVET Workspace Africa, Bear Brigade, engineering, The Gambia, and the bigger system I’m trying to build.

It’s about seeing the connections between education, manufacturing, power, training, jobs, creativity, and legacy — and why this is more than just one project.

Sometimes people don’t understand the full picture straight away.

But if the passion keeps showing up, maybe that’s the sign you’re building the right thing.

  • This Crazy River Idea Might Actually Work!
    2026/04/30

In this episode of Being a Legend, Not an Expert, we dive into one of the biggest ideas we’ve explored so far — using an Archimedes screw turbine to help generate renewable energy in Janjanbureh, The Gambia.

This isn’t just a conversation about engineering.

It’s about practical solutions, education, skills development, and building something that could genuinely help local communities in the future.

    We discuss:

    • How an Archimedes screw turbine works
    • Why it could suit river environments like The Gambia
    • The role of engineering and TVET education in Africa
    • How local students could potentially be involved in future builds
    • The long-term vision for sustainable infrastructure and skills development

This episode also gives a real behind-the-scenes look at how ideas develop — not from polished boardrooms, but from conversations, problem solving, and figuring things out step by step.

We’re not claiming to have all the answers.

We’re building, learning, testing, and documenting the journey as it happens.

Hosted by Jonny bear of TVET Workspace Africa Association and Bear Engineering Group Ltd.
