In this episode of Beer Kittens, Debra joins fellow homebrewer Larry for a brewing day to create a very meaningful beer. As members of MEGA (Michiana Extract and Grain Association), they decided to honor a beloved member who recently passed away by creating a beer in his memory.

Together they brew "Bruce Almighty," named in honor of their friend Bruce and the impact he had on the local homebrewing community.

Follow along as Debra pours the grain, helps throughout the brew day, and later enjoys some amazing craft beer while waiting for the brew to come together. Along the way, we sample:

In this special Beer Kittens adventure, Debra is joined by world traveler Valerie as they reminisce about Valerie's unforgettable experiences celebrating Oktoberfest in Germany, the world's largest beer festival!

Valerie shares stories from the famous 16-day celebration, held annually from the first Saturday after September 15 through the first Saturday in October. As the pair talk about Bavarian traditions, delicious German beer, festive music, and the incredible atmosphere of Munich's legendary celebration, Debra can't help wishing they could experience Oktoberfest together.

🐾🍺 Join the Beer Kittens as we visit Metazoa Brewing Company located at 140 S. College Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana!

We arrived right when the doors opened and got a chance to explore the brewery grounds, including their awesome outdoor space and dog park. That's right... Metazoa is pet-friendly! Over the years they've welcomed all kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, and even reptiles!

During our visit, Debra took on a beer-chugging challenge with Steven behind the bar, enjoyed some great craft beer, and spent time learning about the brewing process from brewer John. John gave us an inside look at what it takes to make the delicious beers found on tap, showed us the brewing equipment, and even let us slap a Beer Kittens sticker onto the system!

From petting dogs and watching them play to meeting new friends and learning about craft brewing, this was a brewery visit we won't forget.
