Season 2: Rebuilding Episode 3: The Version of You They Keep Expecting

One of the hardest parts of becoming a different woman is realizing that some people will continue treating you like the woman you used to be.

They remember the version of you who always said yes. The version who tolerated disrespect to keep the peace. The version who overexplained herself, gave unlimited chances, ignored her own needs, and stayed quiet because she didn't want to disappoint anyone.

But that woman has been healing.

In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we're talking about what happens when you've changed, but the people around you still expect access to an older version of you.

Sometimes people aren't upset because you've done something wrong. They're uncomfortable because the boundaries, confidence, and self-respect you've developed no longer allow them to interact with you the way they once did. And that can create tension. But growth is supposed to change you.

2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us: "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

You are allowed to become someone your past doesn't recognize. You don't have to continue playing an old role simply because someone else hasn't adjusted to your growth.

You don't have to remain the fixer.

    The people-pleaser.

The woman who accepts the bare minimum.

    The woman who stays silent.

The woman who carries everyone else's problems while neglecting her own.

The woman who repeatedly forgives behavior that continues to destroy her peace. Rebuilding means deciding which parts of yourself you're taking forward and which ones were only created to help you survive.

Some people will keep reaching for the old you because the old you was easier for them to access. But you don't owe anyone continued access to a version of yourself that God is helping you outgrow. Let them notice the difference. Let them misunderstand the boundaries. Let them adjust to your growth.

Your responsibility isn't to remain familiar to everyone else. Your responsibility is to keep becoming the woman God is calling you to be.

The old version of you served her purpose. She survived what she needed to survive. She carried you as far as she could. Honor her. Thank her.

But don't become her again just because someone else misses who you used to be.

You're rebuilding now. And this time, you're building a woman who doesn't have to abandon herself to make everyone else comfortable.

    Season 2: Rebuilding

Episode 2: When Healing Changes Your Friendships

Healing changes you and sometimes one of the most painful parts of healing is realizing that some friendships cannot come with you into the woman you’re becoming.

In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about what happens when your growth begins to change the relationships around you.

Maybe you used to be the friend who was always available. The one everyone called when they needed something. The one who kept the peace, overlooked disrespect, accepted one-sided relationships, and gave more than she received.

    But then you started healing.

    You started saying no.
You stopped overexplaining yourself.
You created boundaries.
You stopped participating in gossip and unnecessary drama.
You became more intentional about protecting your peace.
And suddenly, some friendships started feeling different.

The truth is, healing can reveal relationships that were more connected to your lack of boundaries than they were to your heart.

In this episode, we’ll explore the grief that can come with outgrowing friendships, recognizing one-sided connections, releasing guilt when relationships change, and understanding that every friendship isn’t necessarily meant to last through every season of your life.

Proverbs 27:17 reminds us: “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

Healthy friendships should have room for growth. The people who genuinely love you won’t require you to remain wounded so they can remain comfortable.

Sometimes rebuilding means taking an honest look at who’s walking beside you and asking yourself:

Do they support the woman I’m becoming or do they only feel comfortable with the woman I used to be?

You can appreciate the memories and still acknowledge that you’ve grown apart.

You can love someone and recognize that the relationship is no longer healthy.

You can wish someone well without giving them the same access to you.

And you don’t have to make someone your enemy just because they can no longer accompany you into your next season.

Healing will change your relationships because healing changes you.

And as you rebuild, you’re learning that friendship shouldn’t require you to betray yourself just to belong.

Some people will grow with you.

    Some will celebrate you.

    Some will misunderstand you.

    And some may walk away.

But don’t shrink yourself to maintain connections you’ve already outgrown.

You’re not losing everyone. You’re learning who can love the healed version of you.

  • Episode 10: The Power of Letting Go
    2026/08/29

Episode 10: The Power of Letting Go

Sometimes, the hardest thing isn’t accepting that something has ended it’s accepting that you can’t carry it with you into the life God is calling you toward.

In this season finale of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about the power of letting go releasing the people, relationships, expectations, disappointments, guilt, resentment, and old versions of ourselves that we’ve held onto long after their season has ended.

Letting go doesn’t mean what happened didn’t matter. It doesn’t mean you never loved them. And it doesn’t mean you have to forget what you experienced. Sometimes letting go simply means accepting that you can no longer sacrifice your peace trying to change something God is asking you to release.

We’ll talk about why we hold on even when holding on hurts, how fear can keep us emotionally connected to things we’ve already outgrown, and why closure doesn’t always come from another person. Sometimes, closure is the decision you make within yourself to stop reopening a door that God has already given you the strength to walk away from.

Isaiah 43:18–19 reminds us: “Remember ye not the former things… Behold, I will do a new thing.”

There is something powerful about finally saying, “I don’t need to carry this anymore.”

    You can forgive without reconnecting.

You can love someone and still let them go.

You can appreciate what a season taught you without returning to it. You can grieve who you used to be while still becoming excited about who you’re becoming.

And you can trust God enough to release what’s familiar without knowing exactly what comes next.

Throughout this first season, we’ve talked about remembering the woman underneath survival mode, releasing the pressure of always being strong, understanding that love doesn’t have to be earned, creating boundaries, rebuilding the relationship with yourself, beginning again, healing the little girl within, and learning to trust God again.

    Now comes the release.

Because sometimes becoming her again requires letting go of everything that taught you to forget her.

You don’t have to drag yesterday into tomorrow just because it was once important to you.

    Release the guilt.

    Release the resentment.

    Release the need for answers.

Release the version of yourself that survived by settling.

Release the relationships that require you to abandon yourself to keep them.

Release what God has already shown you is no longer yours to carry.

You’ve spent enough time holding on.

Now give yourself permission to open your hands.

Because when you finally release what was, you create room for God to show you what can be.

This may be the end of Season 1: Remembering Her Again, but it is not the end of your becoming.

    You remembered her.

Now it’s time to rebuild her.

  • Season 1 Episode 9: Learning to Trust God Again
    2026/08/22

Episode 9: Learning to Trust God Again

There are seasons when trusting God feels natural—and then there are seasons when life hurts so deeply that even your faith begins to feel fragile.

In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about what happens when disappointment, grief, unanswered prayers, and unexpected endings leave you questioning the God you once trusted so easily.

Sometimes the struggle isn’t that you stopped believing in God. It’s that you don’t understand why He allowed certain things to happen. You prayed. You believed. You hoped. And when things still fell apart, a part of you began protecting your heart—even from God.

This conversation is about finding your way back.

We’ll explore the difference between trusting God and understanding His plan, how to be honest with Him about your hurt, and what it looks like to rebuild faith one small step at a time. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay to come back to God. You can bring Him the questions, disappointment, anger, fear, and broken pieces too.

Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Trusting God again doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly have every answer. It means choosing to believe that even in the chapters you don’t understand, God has not stopped being present.

Maybe your faith looks different now. Maybe it’s quieter. Maybe it’s being rebuilt after surviving things you never thought you would face.

That doesn’t make your faith less real.

Sometimes becoming her again means realizing that God never asked you to have everything figured out. He simply asks you to keep bringing your heart back to Him.

You may not understand the journey yet, but you can still trust the One walking with you through it.

  • Episode 8: Healing the Little Girl Within
    2026/08/16

There are parts of us that grow older, and there are parts of us that stay frozen in the moments that hurt us most.

In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re having a tender conversation about the little girl within the version of you who may have felt unseen, unheard, unprotected, rejected, or forced to grow up too soon.

We’ll explore how childhood wounds can quietly follow us into adulthood, shaping the way we love, trust, communicate, set boundaries, and see ourselves. Sometimes the woman you are today is still reacting from places the little girl inside of you never had the chance to heal.

Healing doesn’t mean pretending the past didn’t happen. It means finally giving yourself the compassion, safety, reassurance, and love you may have needed back then. It means allowing God into the places you learned to hide and trusting Him to restore what pain tried to take from you.

You are not required to keep carrying old wounds into new seasons.

The little girl within you deserves to know she is safe now. She is worthy. She is loved. She is seen. And she no longer has to fight for the love, protection, or validation she always deserved.

Sometimes becoming her again means reaching back, holding the hand of the girl you once were, and reminding her that she made it.

And now, it’s time for both of you to heal.
