Third time's a charm, right?

Beautifully Consumed is back for a third time and better than ever. This time with a new goal in mind. I made the switch to focus on what I know best, talking about business and entrepreneurship. If you are a woman in business who is looking to build a business AND a life with purpose, this is the podcast for you!

The 6 lessons learned from re-starting a podcast three times

1. Having the courage to start is more than most people have.
Most people spend their whole lives dreaming about the thing and never do it. Just starting, even if it's messy, puts you ahead of almost everyone.

2. In the beginning, no one's really listening anyway.
Your first listeners are your friends, your family, and your true fans. That's exactly why the early days are the time to stop worrying about being perfect and just figure it out as you go.

3. The tech behind starting a podcast is NO joke...but it's way less scary than it used to be.
Podcasting gear used to mean hundreds of dollars and a steep learning curve. Now you can record a solid episode on a Bluetooth mic and your phone.

4. Don't expect much feedback early on.
Podcasting isn't like social media, there's no instant gratification or feedback on what you're creating. You're talking to the void for a while. That's normal, and it's exactly why you need to know your why.

5. Know your why and your who.
This is the lesson that took me two and a half years to learn. When I didn't know who I was talking to or why I was showing up, I burned out fast. Getting specific is what makes it sustainable.

6. You can restart as many times as you want.
I started and stopped this show twice before this episode. I'm not embarrassed anymore. Making quick decisions and failing forward is what actually gets you to the finish line faster.
