As part of our Cycle Breaker Graduate Series Dr. VicTORIEus reunites with a student she has mentored for more than ten years for another episode in the Cycle Breaker Graduate Series. She grew up in the Chicago south suburbs, went on to Howard University where she majored in English and edited the Amistad literary journal, and just earned her master's in publishing from George Washington University on a scholarship that came directly from a moment on stage at a publishing symposium.

They talk about the HBCU experience and what it meant to get there from Thornridge, the imposter syndrome of being one of the only Black faces in the room, and how she pushed past it to moderate and plan three symposiums.
