In this sermon, “Be Strong and of a Good Courage” from Joshua 1:1–9, we examine God’s encouragement and promises to Joshua as he takes on the responsibility of leading Israel into the Promised Land following the death of Moses. Through this passage, we learn the importance of trusting God’s timing, standing firm in His Word, and having faith even when the challenges ahead seem impossible. Just as God promised Joshua that He would never leave him nor forsake him, we can find confidence in knowing that God remains faithful to His promises. We also explore the importance of meditating on God’s Word, walking in obedience, and understanding that true spiritual success comes from following His will rather than pursuing the temporary things of this world. Above all, this message reminds us to keep our eyes on Jesus Christ, trust in His finished work on the cross, and remain strong and courageous in our faith, knowing that our victory and eternal rest are found in Him.At Upper Room Fellowship Church, our focus is Christ and Him Crucified.
