On this episode of the Blackhawks Breakaway Podcast, Pat Boyle and Charlie Roumeliotis react to the Blackhawks' season-opening loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. They break down the slow start, how it resembled last year's opener in Florida, and why they're not going to overreact after just one game.
Pat and Charlie then discuss the emphasis on playing a stronger puck-possession game this season, break down the new line combinations, and share their thoughts on head coach Jeff Blashill changing the training-camp lines ahead of Opening Night. They also discuss Connor Bedard's in-game interview with ESPN and more.
Then, Pat and Charlie dive into a mini season preview and answer some of the biggest questions heading into the year. What's the biggest question facing the Blackhawks? Which area could they excel in early? Which player could make a surprise impact? Which young Blackhawk will pop? And who could be the odd-man out when Bedard returns?
Finally, Pat and Charlie make their season predictions, including who will come out of the Western Conference, which playoff team from last season could miss this year, who will be the Blackhawks' team MVP, and whether Chicago will make the playoffs.
