Utah Utes and Iowa State Cyclones kick off Big 12 play with major questions looming—can a surging Iowa State squad, led by new head coach Jimmy Rogers, upset the favored Utes in muddy, rain-soaked conditions? The battle features key quarterback matchups between Devin Dampier and Jalen Raynor, as both teams' revamped offenses and elite defensive lines prepare for a gritty test in Ames.

JT Wistrcill and Nick Marovets break down top storylines, including Morgan Scully’s debut as Utah’s head coach, unpredictable weather’s impact on both teams’ strategies, and which side can assert physical dominance in the trenches. Key topics include special teams difference-makers, the challenge for Utah’s new offensive line against Isaac Terrell and the Cyclone front, and what to watch for in the run vs. pass game. Will Utah’s recent defensive improvements carry them, or does Iowa State have what it takes to shock the Big 12?
