Why can you know exactly what you want, feel deeply called toward it, and still struggle to move in that direction? Sometimes the problem isn’t a lack of desire, clarity, or connection to what matters. The challenge is whether your internal system has the capacity to live what your heart already knows.
This bonus episode of Walk With Me comes from an earlier conversation that became one of the foundational pieces of what would eventually develop into the Walk With Me Method. Before the eight pillars were fully organized into Awareness, Identity, Mind, Nervous System, Emotions, Capacity, Behavior, and Meaning, I was already wrestling with a central question: What happens when the deepest part of you wants one thing, but the systems built to protect you keep pulling you somewhere else?
In this walk, I explore the heart not simply as emotion or romance, but as an orientation toward your deepest values, intentions, and sense of who you are beneath conditioning.
We talk about why you can say:
“I know what I want.”
“My heart is telling me…”
“I feel called toward this.”
…and still find yourself frozen, delaying, rationalizing, or choosing safety instead.
The heart may point toward a direction, but that direction still has to move through your identity, mind, body, nervous system, emotions, and capacity. When those systems interpret expression as dangerous, wanting something more intensely doesn’t automatically make movement easier.
That distinction eventually became central to the Walk With Me Method:
Awareness can reveal.
The heart can orient.
But your internal architecture helps determine what you can actually hold, express, and live.
In this episode, we explore:
In this episode, we explore:
- Why knowing what you want doesn’t always create action
- The difference between feeling called and having the capacity to respond
- How protection can override expression
- Why forcing positivity may not resolve internal resistance
- The relationship between the heart, nervous system, mind, and identity
- Why feeling stuck doesn’t necessarily mean you lack clarity
- How capacity creates room to live more consistently with what matters to you
And I’ll leave you with the same question this early Walk With Me conversation was built around:
What does your heart already know that your system is still afraid to live?
Don’t rush to answer it.
Just notice.
Because awareness is the beginning of every shift.
