  • What If You’re Measuring Success All Wrong?
    2026/10/18

What if we’ve gotten really good at measuring everything in life… except the things that matter most?

We measure income, accomplishments, wins, losses, and even how well we sleep. But how do we measure character, personal growth, or the difference we make in someone else’s life?

As a former professional runner, entrepreneur, and coach, I’ve spent much of my life chasing goals. And while I still believe in dreaming big and competing to win, I’ve learned that achievement and fulfillment aren’t always the same thing.

In this episode of BEYOND, I share lessons from the track, business, and coaching, along with wisdom from John Wooden and Jim Rohn, about why the greatest value of reaching a goal might not be what we accomplish, but who we become along the way.

Because success isn’t just about what we achieve. It’s about who we become and the lives we impact.

  • The Energy You Bring Changes Everything
    2026/10/15

Have you ever noticed how some people make you feel better just by being around them, while others seem to drain the energy right out of a room?

In this episode of BEYOND, I explore a powerful lesson inspired by Jon Gordon’s bestselling book, The Energy Bus.

Whether you’re leading a team, building a business, raising a family, or simply navigating everyday life, the energy you bring into every interaction matters.

I’ll share why leadership starts long before you say a word, how our attitudes influence the people around us, and why taking responsibility for our energy can change the direction of our lives.

Because here’s something I’ve come to believe: You don’t have to be the smartest, loudest, or most successful person in the room. But you can choose to be the person who makes the room better simply by being in it.

BEYOND with Ben Andrews — There is more in you.

  • The Other Side of the Starting Line
    2026/10/12

The Other Side of the Starting Line

What if the greatest lessons we learn through sports have nothing to do with winning?

After years of competing at the University of Oregon and professionally for Nike, I found myself on the other side of the starting line this fall—coaching cross-country and getting the opportunity to coach my son, Henry.

In this episode of BEYOND, I share three lessons this season reminded me of: why potential means nothing without action, how confidence is built through experience, and why where you are today doesn’t determine where you’re capable of going.

Whether you’re a parent, coach, leader, or simply someone working toward something bigger, I hope these lessons remind you that success isn’t just about what we accomplish. It’s about who we become along the way.

  • Unconscious Confirmation
    2023/05/28
It was this weekend many years ago that would change my life, forever. It was the weekend that I decided that I wanted to lead the race - if only for a moment - so that my family could hear our name “ANDREWS” over the loudspeaker. It was that weekend that I finally listened to the voices that mattered most, starting with the people around me - my parents and my brother - repeatedly saying “You can do it! We believe in you!” And finally, me believing their words and telling myself “I can do it. I believe in ME!” It was the weekend that I convinced myself that if I could do it on the first lap, I could do it again. And on 4 consecutive laps, 8,000 people in the Hayward Field stands heard the announcer say “ANDREWS, Ben ANDREWS of Parkrose is your leader”. It was the weekend that an Olympic medalist and Hall of Fame coach told me, “you might have woken up this morning a basketball player, but you’re going to bed tonight as a runner”. Don’t underestimate how the words you consciously hear others saying about you affect what words you unconsciously tell yourself. The audiobook version of The Long Run is complete and will be released soon. It’s not a book about running, it’s a metaphor about life. Finding your supporters, your personal relay team.
