In this reflection, Fr. Rob shares a personal story from his school days to illustrate an important lesson from the life of St. Peter. In one Gospel passage, Peter boldly proclaims Jesus as the Son of God and is praised for the faith revealed to him by the Father. Yet shortly afterward, Peter misunderstands Jesus' mission and receives a sharp rebuke: “Get behind me, Satan.” Through these contrasting moments, Fr. Rob reminds us that faith is a gift of grace, not a sign of our own superiority or wisdom. When we think we have God completely figured out, we risk limiting the boundless ways His love and mercy work in the world. Like Peter, we will sometimes get it right and sometimes get it terribly wrong. The good news is that Christ's love remains constant, inviting us to humility, trust, and a deeper openness to God's presence in our lives.
