Tanisha is the Allegheny County Community Organizer for the Abolitionist Law Center (ALC). She holds a B.A. in English writing and a minor in legal studies from the University of Pittsburgh. In 2022, Tanisha was named one of the Pittsburgh Magazine's 40 Under 40, and in 2023, she was the City Paper's Person of the Year for Activism. She was also the organizer for Pittsburgh's Black Lives Matter Organization. Give it Up Podcast host, Margo Hinton, sits down with Tanisha to discuss her role models, activism around incarceration, and the ALC's huge win in Harrisburg for those facing prison without parole. Be prepared to listen, learn, and then move toward your own activism.
