概要
The Enterprise slingshots back to 1968 for “historical research,” intercepts a mysterious transporter beam, and accidentally beams aboard the sharp-suited Gary Seven (Robert Lansing) and his black cat Isis. What follows is a backdoor pilot for a spin-off that never happened: Kirk and Spock chasing an alien-trained agent through 1960s New York, a rocket about to go nuclear, and a very young Teri Garr as the bewildered secretary who gets pulled into the mission. We break down the time-travel hijinks, the Beta 5 computer, the “scare the world straight” nuclear plan, Isis’s secret, and how much this episode feels like Kirk’s crew guest-starring in someone else’s show. Plus the usual Sceam Me Up Botty mix of plot recap, production trivia, what aged well (and what didn’t), and hot takes on whether this is a fun oddity or one of Season 2’s weaker outings. Light spoilers throughout—perfect if you’ve already seen it or don’t mind knowing the broad strokes. Beam in, Botty!
