What if the challenge isn't simply making more money, but expanding your capacity to ask for it, receive it, and hold onto it once it arrives?
In this episode of the Money Lighthouse Podcast for Spiritual Entrepreneurs, Michel explores three of the most common money challenges she sees in spiritual businesses: Asking, Receiving, and Holding. These three experiences may look different on the surface, but they are deeply connected to a spiritual entrepreneur's capacity to be in relationship with more: more visibility, more abundance, more responsibility, and more of their gifts being seen and valued in the world.
Michel explores how difficulty asking can appear as underpricing, apologizing for rates, discounting too quickly, or avoiding sales conversations altogether. She looks at how challenges with receiving can lead to overdelivering, minimizing success, or feeling uncomfortable when money arrives with greater ease. And finally, she dives into the often-overlooked challenge of holding money, including the feast-and-famine cycles, impulsive spending, and discomfort that can arise when a business begins generating more money than feels familiar. Rather than treating these patterns as evidence that something has gone wrong, this episode invites listeners to see them as opportunities to gently expand their capacity for greater prosperity.
Action StepsIdentify your current money edge.
Ask yourself which feels most challenging right now: Asking, Receiving, or Holding. Rather than trying to work on everything at once, choose the one that feels most alive in your business today.
Practice one small "rep."
If Asking is your edge, practice saying your price clearly and without apology. If Receiving is your edge, accept a compliment, payment, referral, or support without immediately minimizing or reciprocating it. If Holding is your edge, allow money to remain in your account a little longer without immediately deciding where it needs to go.
Notice your automatic response to more.
Pay attention to what happens internally when you experience more money, clients, visibility, opportunities, or support. Do you expand into it, or do you immediately feel the urge to return to what feels familiar?
Collect evidence of your growing capacity.
Notice the moments when you successfully ask, receive, or hold differently than you have in the past. These small moments are evidence that your relationship with abundance is changing.
Journaling Prompts- Which feels most uncomfortable for me right now: asking for what I want, receiving what comes to me, or holding onto what I have received? What might this discomfort be trying to teach me?
- What behaviors tend to appear when I move beyond my familiar financial comfort zone? What would it look like to respond differently the next time they arise?
- If I felt completely safe asking for, receiving, and holding greater abundance, what might become possible for me, my business, and the people I am here to serve?
Your capacity for abundance isn't something you either have or don't have. It is something you can practice, strengthen, and expand.
This week, choose just one small way to practice Asking, Receiving, or Holding. You don't have to transform your entire relationship with money overnight. Sometimes transformation begins with one clear price spoken without apology, one payment received without guilt, or one extra day of allowing money to remain safely in your account.
Listen to this episode of the Money Lighthouse Podcast for Spiritual Entrepreneurs, and if it brings clarity or reassurance to something you've been experiencing, share it with another spiritual entrepreneur who may need the reminder that their current money edge isn't necessarily a setback.
It may simply be an invitation to their next level of capacity.
