Hello hello lovers! Welcome back to another episode! Last week I was sick and no joke my voice sounded horrible so it would've been a rough episode. Along with that, I have been staying busy with work and with school also upcoming, episodes might be posted every other week instead of weekly! I want to give you guys the highest quality of episodes I can give with interesting topics that aren't last minute!

If you live under a rock and don't know what time of the year it is, it's Bama Rushtok!! Today I talk about what Bama Rushtok is and what makes it entertaining. For me, an average midwesterner, watching Bama Rushtok is like watching a completely different universe experience college. Anyway, this week's topic is primarily a lighthearted episode to break from some deeper topics we normal chat about!

  • Girl dinner & being a girl's girl
    2023/08/03

Hello everyone! This week I have a short but sweet episode for y'all. TikTok trends come and go, and new ones get popular super fast. If you're on the app, you've probably seen the "girl dinner" trend. Though the sound and seeing what people eat are funny, what some people don't realize are the negative repercussions from the trend. I chat about how the trend started out as an innocent and funny idea, to possibly emphasizing unhealthy eating habits. Another trend I talk about is what it means to be a "girl's girl". What does it take to be a girl's girl? Has our world unconsciously pit girls against each other? What should we do to be a girl's girl, or at least a decent human? I know it is a short episode, but I hope you guys enjoy!!!

  • Being alone vs being lonely
    2023/07/27

Welcome back to another episode! July is wrapping up and I'm mentally trying to prepare for an extremely hot and humid August... Good news though, Fall is on the way!!! It is also about that time where everyone's summer vacations are coming to a close and we are headed back to school and work, or aka "the grind". With that being said, this week I discuss what the difference is between being alone and being lonely. Sometimes the two can be misused or misunderstood because we don't truly understand their definitions. We also find that we might use one or the other to inaccurately describe situations that we are either alone or lonely. I explain the importance of each state of being as well as talk through some examples.

  • Stepping out of your comfort zone
    2023/07/20

Hello hello! I hope everyone has had a good summer so far! This week I talk about trying new things, primarily, stepping out of your comfort zone. Over the past few months I've done a lot of self reflection of what I've done to step out of my comfort zone, especially when it comes to my love life. After realizing that I haven't really tried anything new and maybe have slightly pushed guys away so I can stay in my comfort zone. I chat about the general importance of stepping out of your comfort zone and talk through why I should step out of my comfort zone in a specific situation. Later, I also touch on the concept of stepping out of your comfort zone in a progressive manner instead of pulling the trigger.

  • Should we live for experiences?
    2023/07/13

Welcome back lovers! I'm so excited to be back recording more episodes for the pod! Season two has officially begun and no better way to start than discussing an existential question. After going to a life changing (in a super serious way) experience of going to the Eras Tour and seeing Taylor Swift live, it got me thinking more about taking advantage of new opportunities in life. What if I chose not to try to go to her concert? What if I decided not to take a weekend trip to NYC? How would I have known what I was missing out on, if I didn't take that leap? A lot of times people say 'I shouldn't go on that trip' or 'I should save my money for something that would last longer' when faced with opportunities to do something different in their lives. When I thought about those types of approaches to new experiences, I realized that as humans, we truly only have one chance to take advantage of what the world has to offer. In this week's episode I ramble on about my thoughts about this truly larger than life concept and how YOLO comes into play.

  • Red flags
    2023/05/18

This week I'm so excited to bring another guest onto the pod! My dear friend Riley and I dive into the concept of red flags. For awhile the phrase "red flag" has been thrown around to highlight potential "flaws" or "dislikes" about someone. Lately, I've also wondered how impactful red flags have on people's relationships. If someone has a specific "red flag", is that a make or break situation? Can you look past a red flag? Riley and I also chat about those questions and our thoughts on if there's a difference between "red flags" that you notice and your "type". I had such a great time digging deeper into this topic and having Riley on the podcast!

Also, surprise! This episode concludes season 1 of As I Was Saying! Thank you guys so much for listening and coming back to the pod! A new season is brewing, so stay tuned!

Thank you all for listening to another episode and I'm so grateful!! Love you so much and I can't wait to chat soon!

  • How comparison can lead to insecurities & self-doubt
    2023/05/11

Welcome back lovers! It's finally feeling like summer, and I don't know about you but my mood gets 100x better :) Last weekend I went to Sabrina Carpenter's concert and had soooo much fun, so shoutout to her, Blu Detiger, and my friend that I went with (& the XL sweatshirt because it was the only size left)! And we are getting closer to T-Swift's concert!!! WOOP WOOP!

Anyway, after I graduated high school, I found myself constantly checking in on what my ex-peers were up to and whether I could compare. Eventually I started to notice that my self-confidence was going down and my list of insecurities and self-doubt thoughts was getting longer. I took a step back and realized that instead of checking in on these people to see how they were doing, it was where I was making sure I "could compare" or "fulfilling the college life". So this week I chat about what happens when you start to compare yourself to others. Personally what I found to help avoid the chance to compare myself, I unfollowed people that might not bring me positive energy. I hope you guys enjoy this episode and/or helps you in any sort of way!! Once you're done I recommend listening to 1D's What Makes You Beautiful :)

I appreciate you all for listening to another episode! Love you so much and I can't wait to chat next week! :)

  • Is having an ideal "summer body" worth it?
    2023/05/04

Hey everyone! I'm so glad you came back to listen to another episode! This week I have a short, but good episode for you! With summer around the corner, I've seen a ton of influencers on social media posting summer prep content. From clothing hauls, swimsuit try-ons, workouts, etc., I thought it would an interesting idea to chat about the concept of the "summer body". What really defines a summer body? Do you really have to change how you look so you can achieve the "ideal summer body"? What makes one type of body the "summer body" and another not a "summer body"?

All of these questions, all of these deep thoughts, I know... Anyway, I chat about my thoughts on the phrase "summer body", how I think it was established, it's effects, and what we can do to change our own mindset about it. I also share some positive, inspirational sayings that I've heard and that I use whenever I find myself getting caught up in trying to change myself to fit into an "ideal" mold of some sort. I hope you guys enjoy this episode and maybe are a little more confident heading into the summer! <3

I appreciate you all for listening to another episode! Love you so much and I can't wait to chat next week! :)
