We close out our tour of hilchos borer with the laws of winnowing, water-sorting, and — the star of the show — straining liquids on Shabbos. Can you blow the chaff off wheat kernels? Can you let a sieve do the work for you? Why is straining red wine through a cloth fine, while clear water is a laundering problem? And what do you do about the fly that just landed in your iced tea? Plus: the Aruch HaShulchan takes on the Rambam over an explicit Gemara — lomdus in action!

What we learn today:
• Se'if 26 — winnowing chaff: one hand or your mouth only, never a sieve
• Se'if 27 — no water tricks to float or sink the waste
• Se'if 28 — no straining dregs in a meshameres on Shabbos
• Se'if 29 — the golden standard: drinkable as-is means straining is permitted; watch for melaben, gumma, and ohel
• Se'if 30 — the Rambam forbids the meshameres entirely
• Se'if 31 — the Aruch HaShulchan pushes back with an explicit Gemara (Shabbos 139b)
• Se'if 32 — pickle brine, almond milk, and yes — the fly in your drink
