Believe it or not, but different biblical teachings, (today knows as denominations), have been around for over 2,000 years – only not many know how they started. In today’s message, I’m going to discuss what Paul addressed in 1 Corinthians 1:10-17, which is the origin of what we recognize as denominations that were unfortunately started by people quarreling over whose teachings are better.

As we can see, the quarreling is still around, however, that was never God’s intention that people would divide regardless of Him allowing denominations to be a part of the body of Christ. That being said, should prompt us to see if we’re contributing to the quarreling, being more united in our denomination, or if we’re united in Jesus; loving others no matter our different perspectives we have in the gospel. Our answer if we’re united in our denomination, rather we realize it or not, typically doesn’t come to us verbally, but by noticing that fellow believers are avoiding us.

Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding. I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so. There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.
