Looking back over your DJ career, which decisions are you happiest you made—and which choices changed the direction of your business?

Brian S Redd and the crew reflect on the decisions that have shaped their lives as DJs. One of the biggest themes is connecting with other DJs instead of viewing everyone as competition. Networking has created friendships, support systems, business opportunities, and a way for DJs of different generations to learn from each other.

The conversation also explores embracing new technology instead of immediately dismissing it. From vinyl and CDs to digital music, computers, controllers, modern lighting, and smaller equipment, the technology DJs use has changed dramatically—and being willing to adapt can make the job easier.

Brian discusses why he’s glad he invested in premium equipment, not simply for better sound and lighting, but for the reliability and peace of mind dependable equipment provides at an event. He also talks about intentionally choosing smaller events and taking advantage of modern technology to create a lighter, more manageable DJ setup.

It’s a conversation about DJ careers, technology, networking, equipment, personal growth, and figuring out what actually makes you happy doing this job.
