When did a consultation become a show bag?

Six supplements, a food plan, three handouts, a symptom tracker, a list of lifestyle changes and a follow-up email with even more instructions.

As practitioners, we can look at all of that and think we've delivered incredible value. But what happens when the client gets home, looks at everything and has absolutely no idea where to start?

In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner, I'm questioning something that's become increasingly common in our industry: the idea that giving clients more automatically means giving them better care.

We talk about why practitioners feel pressured to keep adding more to their consultations, how good intentions can unintentionally create overwhelm, and why a treatment plan that's clinically comprehensive isn't always one that's realistic for the person trying to follow it.

I'm also sharing a few experiences from my own practice, including how easy it is to create expectations around ongoing access that you never intended to offer.

And there's a business side to this conversation, too. Because that $220 consultation might look profitable on paper, but what happens when you add the hours spent researching, writing plans and answering questions between appointments?

The question isn't whether you're giving clients enough. It's whether what you're giving them is genuinely helping.
