What should I do if a dentist says I'm not a candidate for implants?
Get a full exam with a cone beam CT scan reviewed by a surgeon who focuses on full arch implants, not another general dentist opinion. The scan often reveals a different picture than a flat x-ray ever could.

Is a second opinion from another general dentist useful after an implant denial?
Usually not, because a second general dentist has the same training limits as the first and cannot properly assess hidden bone loss. A meaningful second opinion has to come from a full arch surgeon using 3D imaging.

Should I get teeth pulled before seeing an implant specialist?
No. Pulling teeth without a digital full arch plan speeds up bone loss and can make treatment harder later, so any scheduled extractions should wait until after a proper exam.
