This week we continue our conversation with author and theologian Andrew S. Malone about the Aaronic priesthood and the curious king of Salem Melchizedek, and how they both point us ultimately to Jesus, especially in the New Testament Book of Hebrews.

Dr. Andrew S. Malone is the author of God’s Mediators: A Biblical Theology of Priesthood and Knowing Jesus in the Old Testament? A Fresh Look at Christophanies.

If your knowledge of the roles and purposes of the Aaronic Priesthood in the Old Testament is a little rusty, or maybe you have a Latter-day Saint friend who has recently told you that they believe Joseph Smith has restored the Aaronic Priesthood and you're not sure what to say in response, episodes of Apologetics Profile this week and next are tailor-made just for you!

We sit down with author and theologian Dr. Andrew S. Malone for a helpful and informative chat about his 2017 book God's Mediators - A Biblical Theology of Priesthood. We discuss the nature of the priesthood and how it all points us toward Jesus and His fulfillment of the priesthood as our great High Priest. So break out Leviticus and the Book of Hebrews and spend a few minutes this week with us here on AP as we talk about God's Mediators.

Since 2018, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been publishing teaching curriculum for its members to study at home each week. It's called Come, Follow Me. Every year the curriculum focuses on a specific section of either the Bible or the Mormon scriptures. In 2026, the focus of CFM is the Old Testament. You can see the curriculum for yourself on the LDS Gospel Library App. It's free and available to LDS and the general public alike.

This particular week, CFM is focused on several chapters from the Book of Isaiah. This week we continue discussing CFM and some of its teaching on the Book of Isaiah and how that teaching obscures and covers up a lot of what Isaiah is really all about. We'll be talking with former Latter-day Saint Casey Brianne, fiancee of our very own Apologetics Profile host Daniel Ray.

Casey was a Latter-day Saint for 16 years, baptized as a young adult convert into the LDS Church at the age of 21.
