📌 Episode Description (YouTube / Podcast Platforms)
In this episode, we return to one of the most defining chapters of our lives—the drive from Los Angeles to Florida. What began as a move for a reset quickly became something far more layered: a transition shaped by grief, uncertainty, collapse, and unexpected rebuilding.
After the loss of Val’s mother and grandmother, and with Adam navigating the sudden loss of his job, we made the decision to leave Los Angeles and head to Florida to be closer to family in LaBelle. We thought we were stepping into a pause—a chance to breathe and regroup.
But the road had other plans.
What unfolded during that cross-country drive wasn’t just a relocation—it was a turning point. Hours in the car became hours of reckoning. Conversations shifted between silence, survival, reflection, and the slow realization that we weren’t just leaving a city… we were leaving an entire version of our lives behind.
In this episode, we talk through:
- The emotional weight of leaving Los Angeles after loss and instability
- What packing up a full life actually felt like in real time
- The unspoken conversations that happened on the road
- The tension between expectation and reality when we arrived in Florida
- And how what we thought was a reset became something far more transformative
We also bring back our signature segments: 🥂 Champagne & Spills — the highs and honest mishaps of the week ❓ Questions Nobody Asked — the truths that don’t always get spoken out loud ⚡ Dopamine Hit — a closing reflection to shift perspective and land the episode with meaning
This isn’t just a story about moving. It’s about what happens when life forces you into motion before you feel ready—and how, sometimes, the road itself becomes the beginning of something new.
