  • 012 - Bonny Parker & Teresa Welch
    2026/09/03
Bonny Parker lost her son Cannon in 2020, when he was five years old. Teresa Welch was a complete stranger at the time. She picked up the phone anyway. Today they run the Ride on Cannon Foundation together. Bonny and Teresa join Rob to talk about who Cannon actually was, what the days after his death looked like, how two strangers ended up building something together, and what the foundation does now - the bike giveaways, the community events, and the families they help. It is a heavy conversation and they did not flinch from any of it. Cannon's story doesn't end here. It rides on. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00 Intro 1:29 Cannon's personality and interests 5:20 Cannon's character traits 6:22 Custody situation and warning signs 8:24 The day Cannon was killed 11:57 Arrest and immediate aftermath 13:07 Teresa's discovery and motivation 15:05 Trial outcome and seeking justice 17:01 Grief evolution and foundation purpose 18:25 Media coverage and racial dynamics 23:04 Creating Ride on Cannon Foundation 25:53 Community events and impact 27:24 Giving bicycles in Cannon's honor 28:29 Christmas giveaway plans 31:05 How to support the foundation 32:34 Best advice received 34:48 Reflections on past and present 36:00 Legacy and final message ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ANYTHING & NOTHING PODCAST ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌐 anythingandnothingpodcast.com 📘 facebook.com/AnythingAndNothingPodcast 📷 instagram.com/AnythingAndNothingPodcast Want to be a guest? www.anythingandnothingpodcast.com/be-a-guest Subscribe for new episodes weekly. #AnythingAndNothingPodcast #RideOnCannonFoundation #Nonprofit #ColumbiaSC ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ RIDE ON CANNON FOUNDATION ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ https://rideoncannonfoundation.org https://rideoncannonfoundation.org/donate/ https://www.facebook.com/share/1DSVecZptR/

  • 011 - Charles Sanders
    2026/08/29
Charles "Chuck" Sanders is the managing partner of the Rose Sanders Law Firm, PLLC in Houston, Texas. He started out on the other side of the table - a bodily injury adjuster and claims counsel inside the insurance industry - before switching sides to represent injured people. He has since recovered over $50 million for injured families, and was named one of the National Trial Lawyers Association's Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers in Texas. Rob sits down with Charles for a candid look at how injury claims actually work from both sides of the file. They get into what an adjuster is really trained to do with your claim, the case that pushed him out of insurance and into plaintiffs' work, building the firm with his wife Erica Rose, how a car accident case is actually valued, which cases a firm takes and which it turns down, and where AI is starting to show up in legal practice. Along the way: theater training as courtroom preparation, grilling, Grand Theft Auto VI, and what he would tell his younger self. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00 Intro 1:44 Theater Background and Courtroom Storytelling 3:40 Hobbies, Grilling and Gaming 5:12 Growing Up in Texas 7:25 Career Path and Law School 8:30 Inside the Insurance Industry 9:41 Meeting Erica and Building the Firm 10:48 The Case That Changed His Career 13:28 How a Car Accident Case Works 18:01 Family Life and Parenting 22:55 Best Advice and Life Wisdom 25:26 Settlement Strategy and Adjusters 30:08 AI Tools in Legal Practice 32:27 Legacy and Personal Values 39:16 Closing ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GUEST LINKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Charles "Chuck" Sanders / Rose Sanders Law Firm, PLLC Website: https://rosesanderslaw.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chuck434 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/charlesksanders Twitter: https://twitter.com/CharlesKEsq TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ckstexcarwrecklawyer ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ANYTHING & NOTHING PODCAST ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌐 anythingandnothingpodcast.com 📘 facebook.com/AnythingAndNothingPodcast 📷 instagram.com/AnythingAndNothingPodcast Want to be a guest? www.anythingandnothingpodcast.com/be-a-guest Subscribe for new episodes weekly. #AnythingAndNothingPodcast #CharlesSanders #RoseSandersLaw #PersonalInjury #HoustonTX #InjuryLawyer #InsuranceClaims #TrialLawyer #ColumbiaSC

    2026/08/21
Brenden "Beanie" Hinton is an Army veteran, a former Supervisor of Distribution Operations with the US Postal Service, co-chair of the Kershaw County Housing Authority, and the owner of Earthly Eating Catering. He is also the founder of the TrackBlock Community Development Coalition, launching January 2027. Rob sits down with Brenden for a wide-ranging conversation about growing up between Stamford, Connecticut and the racetracks of Camden, South Carolina; the night a police stop set him on a different path; the survivor's remorse he carried when his friends went to prison and he did not; leading the George Floyd march in Kershaw County; feeding and housing people through Food for the Soul and the United Way; and losing over 100 pounds on his own terms. He also lays out the seven pillars behind TrackBlock and why he thinks local votes, mentorship, and plain hard work matter more than anything happening at the national level. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00 Intro 1:59 From Connecticut to Camden, and Into the Army 3:38 Postal Service and Becoming an SDO 7:20 The Night That Changed His Path 8:42 Survivor's Remorse 11:02 The George Floyd March in Kershaw County 13:08 Food for the Soul and Community Relief 16:18 Homeless Services and HMIS Work 18:34 Why Mentorship Matters 20:09 Starting Earthly Eating 21:34 The Weight Loss Journey 26:26 Food Deserts and Access to Healthy Food 29:38 Training, Recovery and Routine 34:53 Fatherhood, Family and Social Media 39:27 The Seven Pillars of the Coalition 41:57 Voting and Local Political Power 47:45 Camden's Growth and Lost Resources 49:15 Affordable Housing and Investment 53:37 Physical Education and Youth Fitness 56:05 Launching TrackBlock in 2027 1:05:07 His Grandfather's Influence 1:07:52 Advice to His Younger Self 1:09:22 Where to Find Brenden ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ TRACKBLOCK COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COALITION ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Brenden's nonprofit launches January 2027, built on seven pillars: mental health, physical health, etiquette, financial awareness, community service, political awareness, and mentorship. • 009 - Doc Fisher Pt. 3
    2026/07/31
Dr. James E. "Doc" Fisher returns for a third conversation. Doc is a former Marine, lifelong educator, and analytical philosopher affiliated with ERA USA. Born in 1933 in the Flint Hills of Kansas, he earned his doctorate from Indiana University in 1971 and went on to teach philosophy at Quincy College, Southern Illinois University, Allen University, and Cairo American College in Egypt. He first sat down with Robin in Episode 004 and came back for Episode 007 — and at 93, still writing and still chasing the questions, he's back for Part 3. This time we chase a single question all the way to the bottom: what is a thought? We work from the mechanics of perception — exteroception, interoception, and proprioception — through the split between physical, physiological, and mental existence, and into the philosophy of meaning itself by way of semiotics and Charles Sanders Peirce. Along the way we detour through Rob's AI-over-Telegram CAD setup and the story of two AIs that invented their own private language, before Doc lands his answer. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00 Intro 1:08 Defining what thought is 7:31 Inner monologue and scientific studies 11:35 Perception and conception framework 15:22 Extraception and physical things 18:33 Interoception and body sensations 22:41 Proprioception and body balance 26:46 Physical versus physiological existence 27:37 Mental existence and dimensions 32:37 Form and shape in geometry 38:31 Perception from different perspectives 40:39 Hard sciences and reductionism 42:13 Mental versus thought definitions 44:28 Thought as the fifth dimension 47:10 Mental images and imagination 52:39 Emotion and mental feelings 57:34 Conation and volition in action 59:49 Conception as intellectual experience 1:02:22 Semiosis and meaning creation 1:06:33 Semiotics and sign systems 1:16:49 Large language models and AI language 1:19:48 Multiple meanings of the word meaning 1:24:51 Thought as inner and outer voice 1:26:51 CAD software and AI integration 1:29:10 Conception versus creation process 1:31:39 Thought before linguistics 1:34:34 Creating a new podcast channel ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GUEST LINKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Dr. James E. • 008 - Rick Starnes
    2026/07/25
Rick Starnes is the founder of Courage to Walk. Born in Germany as an Air Force brat, he landed in Columbia after his parents split and has spent most of his life in Kershaw County, South Carolina. He has walked away from multiple six-figure positions — and now helps other people build a realistic exit ramp out of jobs they have outgrown. Rick is candid in this one. We get into the panic attack that stopped him cold, the drinking that came with a promotion he thought he wanted, and a 3D-printing business that did not survive COVID. From there it turns practical: what a real exit plan looks like with gates, checkpoints and 90-day reviews instead of vague someday-thinking, why accountability only works when somebody is actually watching, and how he defines success now versus what he was chasing before. We also spend a long stretch on AI — what it is doing to hiring, writing and coding, and why he thinks the interesting part is still the human on the other end. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00 Intro 0:47 Early life and military background 2:23 Growing up in Columbia South Carolina 3:09 Outdoor interests and hobbies 5:02 Current AI exploration 6:59 Defining success in formative years 8:31 Early family struggles and basketball 8:52 Transition from six-figure jobs 11:27 Multiple career industries and portability 17:29 Identifying what you're leaving 19:20 Courage to Walk exit planning framework 21:32 Career fulfillment versus income 23:37 Marriage and relationship philosophy 24:31 Family support during transitions 26:23 Goal-setting without perpetual postponement 28:11 Freedom plans and accountability checkpoints 29:49 Task completion and self-motivation 31:37 AI as a tool not replacement 33:35 College education and coding background 36:28 AI and peptide research passions 38:43 Spirituality and deeper meaning 42:09 Global conflict and control 44:29 Reading for pleasure and fiction 46:01 Courage to Walk book and platform goals 47:51 Success portability in leadership 48:58 Building the One Life Left app 54:13 Best advice on productive conflict 54:59 Male role models and character 56:29 Self-reliance and work ethic 57:11 Changing past unkindness 59:55 Final wisdom and closing ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GUEST LINKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Rick Starnes / Courage to Walk Website: https://couragetowalk.com ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ANYTHING & NOTHING PODCAST ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌐 anythingandnothingpodcast.com 📘 facebook.com/AnythingAndNothingPodcast 📷 instagram.com/AnythingAndNothingPodcast Want to be a guest? www.anythingandnothingpodcast.com/be-a-guest Subscribe for new episodes weekly. #AnythingAndNothingPodcast #RickStarnes #CourageToWalk #CareerChange #PersonalGrowth #Accountability #Entrepreneurship #ColumbiaSC

Dr. James E. "Doc" Fisher returns to the show. Doc is a former Marine, lifelong educator, and analytical philosopher affiliated with ERA USA — first appeared on the pod in Episode 004, and this one picks up where that conversation left off. We go deeper on Doc's Marine Corps years (Camp Pendleton, 81mm mortar platoon, "playing war" post-Korea), the ethical questions AI is now forcing into military decision-making, race as a category and how he first ran into racism as a kid in rural Kansas, the John Dewey pragmatism he returns to over and over, and the analytical distinction between the psyche, the mind, and the physical body he's still working out at 93. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00 Intro & Welcome 1:07 Marine Corps Experience 3:00 Boot Camp And Personal Development 5:52 Military Secrecy And Warfare 7:38 AI Ethics In Warfare 9:27 Interracial Relationships And Racism 12:01 Defining Race And Evolution 18:00 Racism Origins And Teaching 25:41 House Arson And Explicit Racism 31:24 Emotional Response To Racism 39:23 John Dewey And Pragmatism 46:39 Thought Formation And Language 56:40 Dewey's Core Philosophy 1:00:12 Closing Remarks And Practice ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GUEST LINKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Dr. James E.
