Answers in the Anomalies is a podcast that takes the strange seriously — because the data that doesn't fit our paradigms may be the most important data we have. Philosopher of science Thomas Kuhn showed us that scientific revolutions happen when someone finally pays attention to the anomalies. These anomalies are crowding in on consensus reality.

Hosted by Christopher McGarvey, an Eastern Orthodox Christian with a Master of Divinity from St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, this show explores UFOs and the full spectrum of anomalous experience through a rigorous theological lens that the Western world has largely forgotten. The Orthodox tradition never got trapped in Enlightenment materialism. It lives with miracles, wrestles with non-human entities, and preserves ancient wisdom the modern world needs.

We treat Experiencer testimony as primary evidence. We interview researchers and leading voices in the UFO and anomalous community. We compare competing paradigms. We follow the UFO through-thread wherever it leads — into consciousness, ancient history, the nature of reality, and the deepest questions of human existence.

And we ask what the Church needs to know — right now — as disclosure unfolds and the paradigm begins to crack. The answer lies in the anomalies.

Anomaly responsibly. Hear widely. Think deeply. Hold lightly.

  • Answers in the Anomalies — Ep. 01: Introduction | Anomalous Experience, UFOs, and Orthodox Theology
    2026/06/08

What happens when the impossible breaks into your life? In this first episode of Answers in the Anomalies, host Christopher introduces the show and shares the opening chapter of his own story — a series of anomalous experiences that overturned everything he thought he knew, and led him to real-life alien abductees, UFO experiencers, and a relentless search for truth..

As government UFO and UAP disclosure unfolds in 2026, we ask what it means that another intelligence has been here all along — and why the people who've already encountered it have been ignored for decades. We take Experiencer testimony seriously as primary evidence. We introduce Thomas Kuhn's insight that anomalies are the engine of scientific revolution — and ask whether the UFO phenomenon is the widening crack in our story of everything. We explore the implications of non-human intelligence for our physics, our history, our democracy, and our deepest beliefs. And we ask why the Church is so unprepared — and what Eastern Orthodox theology might offer that the modern West has forgotten.

Christopher shares the first chapter of his own anomalous story: a traumatic encounter with non-human intelligence that isolated him from everyone he knew, and eventually led him into the world of UFO experiencers — battle-weary people trading notes on how to get by in a world that won't believe them.

Whether you're an experiencer, a researcher, a person of faith, or simply someone who's seen something they can't explain — you're welcome here. The answer lies in the anomalies.

Anomaly responsibly. Hear widely. Think deeply. Hold lightly.
