I was in Jacksonville this past weekend for the Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ, Inc. Holy Convocation, and it was a timeeeeeeeeee.
On night 3, First Lady Robinson took to the mic during the welcome and hit us with, "Answering the Call: Repent, Renewal, Revival."
Fast forward two days later, and I am back home in Atlanta. I am doing my normal Sunday routine of getting my car washed, and in traditional Holy Spirit delivery, something hits me... The Carwash Cycle gave me a real-world visualization of the 3 R's... Repent, Renew, Revival... Let's Talk!
According to The Gospel Coalition, "From a biblical standpoint, repentance is a complete inner turnaround that involves a change of mind, sorrow for sin, and a deliberate turning away from wrongdoing toward God. It is a foundational command in both the Old and New Testaments necessary for receiving God's mercy and forgiveness."
With that in mind, the "Car Wash is a complete turnaround that takes the car from Dirty to Clean. You deliberately go to the car wash for the vehicle to be cleaned (Repent) with the goal of coming out fresh, clean, and looking new (Renewal). Coming out clean shifts your posture to the last R, Revival.
