A mysterious $25,000 donation is transforming the Lyon County Animal Shelter—cutting adoption fees to just $50 and funding spay/neuter costs to help pets find forever homes. With 69 dogs currently housed and 60 more on the waiting list, the shelter’s overcrowding crisis was dire—until community support surged, leading to 35 adoptions in one week alone. While this boost is life-changing, the need remains urgent as strays continue to arrive and kennels stay full.
