  • Unlearning the Burden Mindset
    2025/08/05

    Send us a text

This episode explores how the hidden belief that we are a burden impacts our behaviour, causing us to hide our struggles while absorbing others' problems. Wendy invites listeners to consider how thoughts and behaviours would change if we didn't believe ourselves to be burdensome, highlighting the value of revisiting self-reflection questions throughout our personal development journey.

    • Examining the pattern of hiding our own burdens while absorbing others' problems
    • Understanding the underlying belief "I am a burden" and its behavioural manifestations
    • Recognising that valuable self-reflection questions reveal new layers each time we revisit them
    • Challenging the idea that we need constantly new "advanced" personal development techniques
    • Exploring why many people frame asking questions as creating conflict
    • Identifying how past experiences create emotional reactions when we ask questions or make requests

I would love to hear your responses to these prompts. Whether you drop me an email at wendy@thecompletioncoach.co.uk or DM me on Instagram @thecompletioncoach, I'd love to hear what this stirred in you. If you think it might be helpful for somebody else to hear, please do forward it on.

  • The Handbrake of Hesitation: Why We Talk Instead of Act
    2025/07/29

    Send us a text

We explore the disconnect between what we say we want and the actions we actually take, examining how our subconscious beliefs and emotions often sabotage our stated intentions.

    • Reflecting on your goals from the start of the year and whether your actions align with them
    • Noticing when something gets a lot of "airtime" in your thoughts but little real action
    • Understanding how our nervous system creates emotional responses that don't match the logical situation
    • Identifying the hidden stories and meanings we attach to potential changes
    • Recognizing our tendency to feel excessive responsibility for how others might be impacted by our choices
    • Building nervous system agility by witnessing emotional responses without being controlled by them
    • Moving forward despite discomfort rather than waiting for discomfort to disappear
    • Expanding your capacity by keeping promises to yourself and allowing yourself to want what you truly want

If there's an area in your life where you keep setting goals but not taking action, I invite you to explore the beliefs and stories underneath. Let me know how you get on by DMing me at thecompletioncoach on Instagram.

  • Breaking Free from Past Shadows and Future Fears = LIVING
    2025/07/15

    Send us a text

We often take our existence for granted, getting caught up in fears about the past and future instead of enjoying the present moment. Learning to be truly present means recognizing that very few things drag us away from the now except our own thoughts.

    • Presence isn't just being physically in a room but mentally being in the now
    • Overthinking is trying to read the future while dwelling drags the past with us
    • We can learn from the past through trust, not by shielding or forcing
    • Ask yourself: if tomorrow was your last day, would you say you truly lived?
    • Living differently is what healing is about - making changes rather than repeating patterns
    • Approximately 90% of our problems are just our thoughts about how serious something is
    • Nothing is as serious as we make it out to be - even the serious stuff

  • Breathe, Smile, Slow Down: A Curiosity Meditation
    2025/07/01

    Send us a text

This guided meditation explores why some people avoid rest due to unconscious fears about collapse rather than concerns about productivity. We investigate both internal fears of personal collapse and external fears about what might happen if we stop micromanaging our lives.

    • Get comfortable in an upright position to avoid falling asleep during the meditation
    • Take genuine deep breaths unlike the shallow ones we take while rushing through tasks
    • Approach the meditation with curiosity rather than expectations
    • Visualize yourself truly resting without collapse
    • Picture everything around you thriving even while you rest deeply
    • Consider slowing down by just 2-5% in various aspects of your life
    • Practice the affirmation "it is safe to be me" to reinforce safety in rest
    • Notice what happens when you don't immediately rush after the meditation ends

If you think somebody might benefit from this meditation, please forward it on, and I'll speak to you again next week.

  • Why Self-Trust Requires Self-Honesty
    2025/06/24

    Send us a text

We've become obsessed with external data, outsourcing our self-awareness to technology and social media while ignoring our internal wisdom about what we truly need.

    • Tracking sleep, recovery, heart rate and social media metrics has replaced our connection to how we actually feel
    • The wellness industry thrives on polarizing, black-and-white viewpoints that provide simple answers to complex questions
    • Self-honesty isn't glamorous but it's necessary—we all know when we're making excuses or avoiding what matters
    • You can't truly trust yourself while simultaneously knowing you're "full of shit" in certain areas of your life
    • Stop investigating why you can't do something and start figuring out how you can
    • Break cycles of self-deception by asking: "Am I being honest or giving myself permission to fail quietly?"
    • Navigate your internal landscape with curiosity rather than judgment
    • Acknowledge your capacity to change and take small, gentle steps forward

  • Exploring the Internal Collapse: Why Rest Feels Dangerous
    2025/06/17

    Send us a text

When we struggle with rest, it's often not because we don't think we deserve it, but because we fear what might happen in the stillness. This fear of "internal collapse" comes from associating rest with losing control and experiencing chaos.

    • Quotes about deserving rest miss the mark for high-functioning people
    • Many associate rest with letting their guard down and losing control
    • The body provides data when we try to rest - tiredness or resistance
    • Rest feels unsafe because of past experiences where relaxing led to problems
    • Questions to ask yourself: what do I think will collapse if I rest?
    • What am I trying to contain by staying busy?
    • High-functioning anxiety is kept at bay through over-functioning
    • People fear that without constant activity, something will unravel
    • Many worry they won't recover if they actually allow themselves to collapse
    • Consider where you over-function and what you're truly afraid of underneath

If you think this would be of interest to somebody else, please forward it on. You can drop me an email at wendy@thecompletioncoach.co.uk or send me a DM with your thoughts.

  • Words That Shape Us
    2025/06/03

    Send us a text

Our language carries deep meaning that affects how we think, feel, and navigate life. The words we choose create our reality in profound ways that often go unnoticed until we pay careful attention.

    • Moving from "resilience" to "agility" shifts us from rigid toughness to flexible movement
    • Resilience implies weathering storms and surviving; agility suggests finding paths forward
    • Most people only talk about resilience during struggles, not during success
    • Emotional and cognitive agility allows us to navigate all experiences with greater ease
    • "Surrender" isn't about giving up but about releasing rigid expectations while staying committed
    • The words "force," "commitment," and "surrender" evoke different feelings in our bodies
    • Our language, thoughts, feelings, and nervous system are all interconnected
    • Being intentional with language can free us from limiting patterns

  • Your Practices Are Your Power: Why Square One Is Just an Illusion
    2025/05/27

    Send us a text

Square one doesn't really exist when we're aware and intentional about our actions, but it can feel very real when we're coasting through life unintentionally. Our daily practices don't create perfection but provide valuable data about our current state, allowing us to make decisions aligned with our capacity and intentions.

    • The holiday travel analogy: focusing on the difficult parts makes us miss the present moment
    • Square one only exists when we're unaware and unintentional
    • Practices create awareness, not perfection
    • Awareness of our state gives us better data for decision-making
    • Intentional actions lead to intentional outcomes
    • When we drop our practices, our strongest unresolved conditioning takes over
    • Emotional and cognitive agility come from consistent practice
    • Self-regulation happens through intention and awareness
