Home is more than a place. It’s where who we are shapes how we love, lead, connect, and grow.

Anchored at Home is a podcast with husband-and-wife duo Josh and Liz Nolz about doing the deeper work within ourselves so we can show up differently in the relationships and lives that matter most.

Through honest conversations about marriage, family, emotional health, faith, identity, and personal growth, Liz and Josh explore what it means to build a life that feels grounded from the inside out. Drawing from their work as coaches—and, just as importantly, their own experiences of marriage, parenting, healing, and growth—they bring both perspectives to the table: the practical and the personal, the head and the heart.

This isn’t a space for quick fixes or pretending to have it all figured out. It’s a place to slow down, get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface, and have the conversations that can lead to greater connection, wholeness, and lasting change.

Because when we become more anchored within ourselves, the ripple reaches our marriages, our families, our homes—and the generations that come after us.

  • 3. Two Broken People, One Marriage: Why Healing Starts With Us, God, and Community
    2026/10/16
"We can spend our entire marriage trying to change each other, or we can invite God into the parts of ourselves that need healing. Because the healthiest thing we can bring into our marriage isn't perfection, it's a willingness to grow."Can vulnerability actually make your marriage stronger? And what happens when marriage exposes wounds, habits, and patterns you didn’t even know you had?In this episode of Anchored at Home, Josh and Liz have an honest conversation about marriage, identity, emotional healing, Christian relationships, vulnerability, therapy, and building deeper intimacy with your spouse. They explore an important truth about healthy marriage: before you can build the strongest version of your marriage, you have to be willing to look honestly at yourself. Josh shares his deeply personal experience attending an intensive retreat and confronting painful experiences from his past. What began as something he was terrified to do became a lesson in the incredible power of vulnerability, emotional healing, authentic community, and allowing yourself to truly be known.Josh and Liz also discuss how marriage can expose unresolved wounds, why your spouse cannot heal everything that happened before your relationship, the importance of creating a shared vision and core values for your marriage, and how faith in Jesus has shaped the way they approach healing, parenting, communication, and their relationship. They also share a practical communication exercise they use with couples to help spouses stop simply hearing each other’s words and begin hearing the heart behind them.If you’re navigating marriage struggles, Christian marriage, emotional intimacy, communication issues, therapy, relationship healing, past trauma, parenting, personal growth, or simply want a stronger and healthier relationship with your spouse, this conversation is for you.The challenge this week: find one safe person and tell them something real. You don’t have to share everything. You don’t need a massive breakthrough. Just open the door. Because vulnerability isn’t weakness—it’s one of the ways we build the deep relationships, strong marriages, healthy families, and supportive communities we were created for.Subscribe to Anchored at Home for honest conversations about marriage, faith, family, relationships, healing, parenting, and creating generational impact—one home at a time.--------------------------------Stay Connected with our hosts:Liz Instagram: http://instagram.com/liznolz/Josh Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/joshnolz/Stay Connected with Anchored at HomeIf this conversation encouraged you, challenged you, or gave you something to carry into your own home, we’d love to stay connected.Subscribe to Anchored at Home wherever you listen to podcasts so you never miss a conversation. • 2. What are you really anchored to?
    2026/10/01
In this episode of Anchored at Home, Josh and Liz share the deeply personal story behind the podcast name and explore what it means to build a strong marriage, healthy family, grounded identity, and enduring faith that can withstand life's storms.

After watching an anchor struggle to take hold during a trip, Josh and Liz realized how closely that image reflected their own lives. You can appear to be in the right place while quietly drifting beneath the surface. And that drift can happen in your faith, marriage, parenting, emotional health, relationships, and identity.

Josh and Liz share their own experiences with perfectionism, people pleasing, performance-driven identity, codependency, unresolved trauma, addiction and numbing behaviors, church hurt, emotional disconnection, and baggage brought into marriage. They also discuss how their relationships with Jesus transformed the way they understood identity, healing, vulnerability, marriage, parenting, and generational impact.

This honest Christian marriage conversation explores why couples shouldn't wait for a crisis to strengthen their relationship. The healthiest foundations are built before the storm comes through trust, communication, vulnerability, emotional safety, faith, accountability, and a willingness to address your own wounds.

Josh and Liz also challenge listeners to consider an important question: What am I carrying that I haven't looked at yet? Because the things we refuse to name can quietly shape our marriages, parenting, relationships, and homes.

If you're looking for conversations about Christian marriage, biblical relationships, faith and family, emotional healing, overcoming past trauma, marriage communication, Christian parenting, breaking generational cycles, finding your identity in Christ, or building a stronger home, this episode is for you.

Subscribe to Anchored at Home for real, vulnerable conversations about faith, marriage, parenting, healing, relationships, and creating generational impact one home at a time.

  • 1. You’re Not Alone: Why We’re Finally Having the Conversations That Matter
    2026/09/17
What if the conversations we’re most afraid to have are the very ones that remind us we’re not alone?

In the debut episode of Anchored at Home, Josh and Liz Nolz pull up a chair and invite you into the heart behind this podcast—and into a much bigger conversation about marriage, family, faith, vulnerability, and the people we need along the way.

They share how they met, the moves and unexpected turns that shaped their family, the “I got you” moments that strengthened their faith, and why saying yes to this podcast required stepping far outside their comfort zones.

But more than anything, they share why Anchored at Home exists.

After years of experiencing the power of honest conversations around kitchen tables, fire pits, in therapy, in community, and within their own marriage, Liz and Josh have learned something simple but life-changing: we were never meant to do this alone.

Behind every highlight reel is a real story. Marriage is hard. Parenting is hard. Growth is hard. And sometimes hearing someone else say, “Me too,” is exactly what we need to finally exhale.

This is a space for those conversations—the vulnerable, messy, funny, faith-filled, honest ones that help us feel seen, find connection, and become more anchored in who we are and how we show up at home.

Pull up a chair. There’s room for you here.

    In this episode:
    • Why Liz and Josh finally said yes to starting a podcast
    • Their story, family, and the moves that shaped them
    • Faith, obedience, and the “I got you” moments along the way
    • Why vulnerability creates deeper connection
    • The reality behind the highlight reels we see online
    • Why healthy marriages, families, and individuals need a village
    • What you can expect from future episodes of Anchored at Home
