Self improvement gets surgical fast, and The Blind Rage Podcast scrubs in for AMERICAN MARY (2012). Katharine Isabelle is Mary Mason, a cash strapped med student who learns that tuition can be paid in blood money and back room procedures, especially when a strip club connection opens the door to clients with very specific requests. Soon the gigs stop looking like med school labs and start looking like underground art projects, from human doll transformations to extreme body modification performed with icy focus and zero bedside charm. The film mixes grime, pitch black humor, and queasy intimacy, daring you to admire the craftsmanship while questioning your life choices.
