The Montreal Alouettes face a historic collapse as coach Gary Sherman is fired and quarterback Johnny Manziel is permanently banned from the CFL. This episode analyzes the fallout from the 5-13 season, the elimination from playoff contention, and the league's response to Manziel's violation of terms. We discuss the offensive line crisis, Geno Lewis's potential role, and how division rivals like Winnipeg are capitalizing on Montreal's instability. Key topics include the strategic implications of the ban, the future of the quarterback position, and predictions for the final win total.

This segment covers the immediate aftermath of the 31-14 loss to Winnipeg, where Manziel was sacked five times. We examine the trick-play touchdown involving Geno Lewis and George Johnson, and how it contrasts with the team's overall struggles. The discussion includes the concussion protocol issues that plagued Manziel earlier in the year and the subsequent roster battles. We also predict the movement of key rotational offensive linemen and assess the long-term health of the franchise.

The episode provides a comprehensive overview of the CFL's stance on the situation, emphasizing the league's commitment to stability over spectacle. We compare Montreal's chaotic environment with the structured approaches of their East Division rivals. Listeners will hear expert analysis on whether the team can recover from such a severe cultural and organizational failure. The conversation ends with concrete predictions for the final standings and the upcoming offseason moves.
