  • From Manchester to New York: Nothing Will Stop Rob From Succeeding
    2026/08/28

What happens when you take something you love doing in your spare time and decide to turn it into a career?

In this episode, I sit down with my cousin Rob Burns, who started his journey in Manchester, building his skills as a videographer while working on his craft in his spare time.

Fast forward a few years and Rob has made the huge decision to move to New York and pursue his passion on a much bigger stage.

We talk about how he got started, building confidence and experience, making the decision to leave the UK, moving to New York, working in the creative industry and what it really takes to turn a passion into something more.

This isn’t a property podcast. It’s simply a conversation with someone who decided to back himself and go after what he wanted.

If you’re interested in videography, photography, moving abroad, starting something from scratch or you’re simply thinking about taking a chance on yourself, there’s plenty in this conversation for you.

And this episode is a little bit different for another reason…

It was actually the first podcast I ever recorded. I wanted to get comfortable behind the microphone, build my confidence and simply get the first one done.

Looking back, I’ve obviously come a long way since this recording, but everyone has to start somewhere.

    This is Rob’s story.

From Manchester to New York. 🎥🗽

    2026/08/14

In this episode of Allsorts Property with Joe Burns, I’m joined by Carl Tranter, one of the founders of T&T Assets, to talk property development, construction and building long term wealth through property.

Carl and the team don’t just develop properties and sell them on. They also retain many of the assets they create, building a long term portfolio and generating sustainable income from what they develop.

We also get into Carl’s approach to keeping costs down. He’s big on shopping around, negotiating hard, buying in bulk and knowing his numbers inside out to make sure he gets the best possible prices across his projects.

We cover Carl’s journey into property, development, procurement, construction, negotiating with suppliers, retaining assets and the importance of understanding the numbers behind every deal.
